    YankeeJim:
One of the things coming up soon is supposed to be a new way to identify players by their records, particularly by tiers. "They will no longer be able to hide their scores."

That's great for players who play a lot of multiplayer stuff. But, it does nothing to keep the free weekly tourneys and tier specific readygo's limited to people who should actually be playing them. A restarted former-legend hack should not be competing against players who are truly new to, and still learning, the game.

    YankeeJim:

How you chose to focus your attention really is up to you. Bothering about people that play the system is a complete waste of time. You ain't gonna change it.

Get off the witch hunts, people. Be part of the passionate golfers. Get to the Legend tier and put it all behind you, you can't get hurt by it as a Legend. WGT is wising up.  :-)

I respect the fact that you have been here more than 3 years Jim and your post count would suggest that you have heard all this before and are so fed up with it that you just don't care about it now, but there are many that still do.

The subject was popular enough for the question to be answered by MrWGT in the chat and his 1st comment about this was

"So... there are things we can do on the backend to check and validate a user, but a vast majority of the players who are in violation we find out from the community itself."

So rather than call it a witch hunt would it not be more correct to say it is the community trying to help wgt?  Arrveeaussie  was singled out by myself primarily because it is the person behind it that I have the most proof of multi-accounting and if what I have posted isn't proof enough then I agree with you that we should not bother about the cheats in our midst and just bury our heads in the sand.

    My thoughts:

I believe if wgt fails to act on the information given then it sends out a strong message to the community that cheating is ok.

I, like many on here play Golf IRL and not only love the game but are passionate about the fairness and the integrity of the individuals playing it.

Is it cheating?  In my RL golf club we have competitions for separate Handicap groups, what these guys are doing on here is like a scratch player being allowed to play in a competition for the 18-24 handicap group. It is not allowed IRL golf so why is it here?

i don't get why you made something like 6 restarts, was it ?

1 restart cause u were uncomfortable with an avater name; that i can still understand. Although why start off with somethin' like that in 1st place ? But 5 or 6 restarts ?

Care to shed some light on that ?

just 7 days ago in your last CC you ended up ADMITTING to being a MULTI-ACCOUNTER.

No I did not...again,I admitted to being a Re-starter, NOT a multi-accounter....why do people continue to twist this to make me look worse?

You asked the question Rob so here is the answer if wgt will allow it. You obviously don't remember what you say from one day to the next. And whilst I am happy that you put yourself in the spotlight with your original post it is not ONLY about you, it is a general concern of many players on here

pffffft a couple of female accounts....An you did know that your only allowed 1 account.

When you was Belinda ...you also created Aussierob....an you was playing both accounts at the same time..And you was told by wgt that you had to close one of them down, so no way Rob.....To be a good liar you gotta have a very good memory

    WGTicon:

    Hi

How many times someone restarts is up to them. The key difference is what they do then. Clearly abusing that for profit is 1 of the key things we look at.

    -wgticon

The nature of the internet being the way it is......there will be many reasons why folk choose to have multi accounts or re start so many times and not purely just to screw unsuspecting players out of credits.

I dare say there'll be stalkers / pervs etc harrassing female members on here and when they get found out....they need only sign up for another account or hit the restart option and hide behind another username until that account gets well known too.

It's easy to see multi accounters who play this game to cheat others out of credits and prizes....but more difficult seeing the ones who use their accounts for no other purpose other than to stalk, perv or harass female players using this site.

There's probably even some female players hassling guys too but I suppose that's something else to think about.
