    Dear all,

I tried to look for a Country Club to join today yet about every Club that has highly profiles there with active plays and tournaments etc...., also has a restriction, call it a ban or fobia against hacks and amateurs. Being rather new to WGT and having the amateur status, I am frustrated to see that there is little to no room for me in a CC with my status where I only seek to be active AND to play often, automatically resulting in upgrading tiers.

Fact is that for now, any CC that bans the lower ranked people, yes people!, is worthless and futile in my eyes and I would never consider joining any of those. I rather have a longer look for an active Club that is open to all, although those form a big minority here it seems. Big pity!!

I joined The Peoples Club as a hack and it's great. Lots of competitions for all tiers and lots of fun.

    Dear all,

Sicne I posted my comment, I received five invitations from different CC's. Three of them were worthless, one I considered not with a full heart and instead went for one who has no fobia against lower tiers and promises active play.

It will be an interesting experience I trust.

You know, playing golf is a lot like playing music. Playing with musicians or golfers who are better than you makes you a better player because of what you can learn from them and the higher class of competition makes you rise to a higher level.

the main thing holding me back from greater glory is most likely, my lack of desire to purchase they equipment upgrades. I'm not a very well funded unit and in real life my game has steadily improved in spite of my "mix-n-match, Heinz 57" set of clubs! I'd rather save my money for playing. What good does the best equipment do for you if you can only use them 25 to 50% as often as the ones that are working just fine already?

I'd love to join a CC and meet new people. I'd love a chance to learn from more experienced players and improve my game. When all you Legends , Tour Pro's and the like first started, I bet there was someone there to help show YOU the right way to play and act  on the course! All of us should honor those people by returning the favor upon a new generation  of future golf lovers, don't you think!

If any CC out there could stand having a person with an attitude like mine as a member, please extend me an invitation! I promiss you that you won't regret it!

                                                      Signed,

                                                                     The Village Davidiot

                                                                          (pronounced David'-iot)

    Hey Shapeworks,

I saw, you've found a club in the meanwhile.

But I just want to say a few words to this problem:

All people like you can say "Thanks" to the dozends of Hacks, Amateurs and Pros, who joined in a CC, played a while and then have never been seen again. :'-(

We had a lot of Hacks and Amateurs in our club, some are still playing, but a lot of just joined in and lost the interest in wgt and the club a few days later. That's very disappointing for every owner, who tries to make his club interesting with many activities. Just take a look to thousands of wgt-members, who are members for month or years and are still Hack, Amatuer or Pro, because they've played only a fews days/ months.

My opinion: For all beginners it's better to play for a few weeks and join a club, when they have find out, they will play wgt for longer times then only four weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your problem and you're right. But perhaps you're a minority ...

@Davo: You're playing at wgt for over one and a half year, you've played 53 ranked rounds in this period and you're still an Amateur!? I don't think that's a good application for any owner, sorry.

    Best regards,

    Robbie

    Good point here.

New players in WGT that want to join an high profile and active CC & CC owners that are looking for active players aswell = same goal.

As a CC owner  we received a lot of demand of new players that are all exited to join in  , you accept them at the beginning  then as indicate Robbie0102 " but a lot of just joined in and lost the interest in wgt and the club a few days later".  After a while a CC owner start to be tired of all this & start to be more selective.

One of the problem with a new player, is that there is no proof that he will be active for the future.  CC owner choose higher level players, mostly because  he can go see player profile & see his history of play in WGT & this will confirm if the player is active of not.

Agree with Rob : "  For all beginners it's better to play for a few weeks and join a club, when they have find out, they will play wgt for longer times ...
