Ok I think this game is great, but starting out as a hack and being stuck with a drive of 225 and not being able to stop shots with short irons and the fact that putting is very difficult makes this game hard to stay into.  When I started I said hey no biggie every game does this, just need to level up and get somoe more distance, but no!  I am level 17 and still with the same distance and accuracy.

I have read the chipping putting guides and while they have helped, i am still struggling to do anything on the course.  While i 2 put just about everything, i still two put 10 and out, putting is very difficult.

I am willing to stick it out but I have to know a couple things, do you only get increased distance with buying new clubs or through leveling to a different tier?  If it is only through buying clubs i am out.  Hopefully thats not the case as it is a good game.

Bunkers, i have never in my life had so much trouble with this in any other game.  It seems so inconsistant.  I think I read some bunkers are different then other but how the hell do you know that.  it a VIDEO GAME, in real life you feel the sand, firm, soft, wet, ect.  I think it is trying too hard to be life like, and not giving you enough options, with all shots, the fact you cann't draw fade, hit high, low is disappointing as well.

anyway, I am willing to keep trying but I want to be able to grow my golfer with out having to be forced to "buy" distance.

By using the offers and the surveys and a few videos I've replaced nearly all of my clubs in just a few weeks. Hopefully I'll get the wedges to complete the set tomorrow. I intend to go far with this game without spending a dime.

You have played 3 ranked rounds, patience.  The game is tough, which in itself makes it that great.   A decent wedge and some WGT balls, can go a long way when starting out.

Check your bag, and try the spin balls ;)

    Cheers,

Hey there, watch the videos or do surveys and you get free credits that way, i have friends at work who got all there toys this way. I may add that i used the basic clubs up untill i reached master lvl so it can be done, if you can 2 putt from anywhere then you are most of the way to being a good plyr, learn to beat your clubs and use the time saving up credits to learn the courses.

one thing i always tell my kids is never to give up and give it your all, a loser can never win but a winner can lose on any given day.

just enjoy the game m8 and adapt to what you have, try to shoot par on the courses you play and follow my simple rule which is ...............Hit the Fairway, Then hit the green and become jedi at  the 2 putt, anything under a 2 putt is a bonus.

    hope this helps

    best regards

Unfortunately,  you will have purchase your distance and accuracy by upgrading from your current clubs, there are ways to "earn credits"  in here,.....watch videos, tier up,or enter RG's, Tourneys, or play match play challenge.   Another method commonly used it to put up a very hot looking females picture on your home page, and ask for equipment from admirers in your status box, but im afraid your avatar "mnguy" is going to flag you as fake.    Hey, good luck out there!

we all go  the same road,  not easy  has a Hack ,  be patient  it takes time,  dont give up  you are  only starting  ,  i wanted to quit this game  20 times,  i am glad i did not and now  after  a long  time  i am  a Legend  ( just avarage Legend)   the most important thing to remember is that you can not  win  every thing  like other  virtual  games , this one WGT  makes it  always  chalenging  and  difficult , that is why  most of us  golf lover  we keep  playing this great game (excuse   my bad english)  Frapp  :)

Very well said Frapp,  even with your "bad english" as you say,  is better than some whose native language is english. :-)

well mate, it depends on what you want ..

if u want easy (that would pretty much be every other golf game i've come across .. online or console), then this ain't it ..

this is a tough game to be sure .. but for me, and i'll wager for the rest of the WGT community, it is exactly why i'm addicted to this game .. cause it ain't easy

i'm sure even the experienced legends will tell u the same .. there's hardly ever the perfect game .. and u'll never stop learning, experimenting, cussing, laughing or have more fun ..   IF  difficult & challenging is what u r after ..

where's the fun in easy & always getting it right ? if that was the case here, i would have lost interest long ago ..

if u want the challenge though & the satisfaction of playing a good round, u r in the right place ..

This game is definitely challenging - but if you give it some time you will get better

I sometimes really do believe that the game of golf is for people who like pain and challenge.
