Unable to send mssgs to friends

  In the main start page, if I click on any friend to bring their page up it only gives the '+ ADD AS FRIEND' & '> INVITE TO PLAY' buttons. It no longer gives the 'SEND MSSG' button so I cannot send any mssgs to friends.

  In addition, the '+ ADD AS FRIEND' button should be the 'REMOVE FRIEND' button anyway.

  Any ideas?

  hi

  please try a different browser. sometimes av or popup blocker or browser itself is not compatible.

  Sorry, but that is not really an acceptable response.

  I have been reading various threads on this forum, & amongst other standard responses such as clear the cache (which does clear some problems), switching browser is also used as a 'standard' answer to hopefully fix a variety of different problems reported.

  But WGT is an Internet game which is designed for browsers, so should at least work properly on the most well known mainstream browsers. And problems like the one I've reported are probably 'known' problems and have specific fixes for those mainstream browsers.

  But you haven't even asked which browser I'm using.

  As far as I can tell, it appears that the Google Chrome browser is the one that appears to work the best with WGT, & that is the one I'm using & I really do not want to start using other browsers as well.

  So please give me some more specifics about things I can look into to try using Google Chrome, which may fix the problem of not being able to send or receive mssgs to my WGT friends. It is a fundamental part of using the game.

  I have this very same problem, so your not alone.

  I have also posted on here about it last week and i didnt get no response off them. 

  I clear ma caches EVERY DAY using ASC from Iobit and also CCleaner and only once have I seen a send mail link. 

  Now this problem has started to affect my CC related competions as im unable to contact my partner/opponent. 

  This is an issue that need sorting, I have not put which browser I use as it affects ALL browsers.

  EDIT: I also have my pop up blocker turned off so I know that is not the problem

  WGT, PLEASE CAN YOU SORT THIS FEATURE AS IT IS AN ESSENTIAL FEATURE THAT I NEED.

  P.S  sorry for the caps put this is now putting me off my golfing and i have my CC event maker crawling all over me to finish my comp rounds.

  It's causing problems & I'm not even in a CC... yet. But I can see this would multiply the problems & make it close to imposs to be an active member. Being able to communicate with other golfers is essential, so this needs fixing.

  As a workaround I've started posting on people's walls, but that's not ideal as it is too public for some things.

  WGT, please look at this again & advise.

  This glitch has been going on ever since Adam was a boy.

  trying to message friends can be frustrating.

  Load their profile 'add as a friend' 'invite to club' and they are in my friends list and in the club.

  Go to the club page showing the list of members - click on the member, load their profile same thing.

  go find an OLD message from them, load their profile from that link, same thing.

  So, resort to a reply to that message, with the inability to change SUBJECT.

  The main issue is 3 things:

  1. flash which is constantly updated (no one can keep up with all new versions since above never sends them out to anyone ahead of time

  2. javascript issues. no being compatible, etc

  3. corruption of cookies/temp files.

   

  When I ask to try a different browser, I essentially try to narrow down the issue, whether it's browser specific or something else.

  Tks the response WGTicon.

  1. Understood, but that's something you guys have to handle. I am updated to the latest version of flash as far as I am aware. If that's the problem, only you can sort it out.

  2. No idea, is there anything I can do or send you for you to look into this. I am reasonably computer literate, but if there are probs with javascript it's beyond my knowledge.

  3. Would have been sorted out during the last clear browser history / cache (day before yesterday).

  4. I'm using Google Chrome, don't think it can be that. As mentioned, I don't wish to run more browsers & it appears to be about the best one for running WGT anyway. Fyi it has been fine to date, with even very few meter skip problems. 

  Pls advs.

  1. that's the issue. when flash releases a new version and users upgrade to it asap, that's when issues arise because it maybe incompatible with the game or browsers. one should never upgrade to new version if you are not having a problem with current. only after a while, when it's known that new version works, it's worth upgrading.

  2. not sure who can fix this.

  3. that's something I don't recommend. I always run 3-4 browsers just for that reason. In past, many folks spent days trying to fix an issue thinking it was 1 thing, when it was the other. Having multiple browsers installed with different flash versions is 1 sure way to troubleshoot many of the issues.

  We are having an irons only(for credits) tourney in our CC=High On Rocky Top. On the first day I and another person shot even scores. On that day it said I was the leader and he was 2nd. The very next day,at the top of page it said he was the leader but I was first place. Although in the leader board it said I was 2nd place. This only started happening after the new format of several rounds or courses. Deffinately a bug here!! Also I have been stuck on 85 consecutive days played for over a week now even though I've played several games each day. It took me a while to catch this,thought it was just me not remembering. NOT SO. My game is also gone very irratice since being stuck on 85 days. Need an answer to both of these issusesWGT!!!!
