    1.
Tks WGTicon but like most users on WGT I am a user, not a business or an IT developer.

In the last few years the software industry has moved most products to updating on-line as near as automatically as makes no difference. How on earth are users supposed to know when they should, or when they shouldn't install a software update. What I've done is limit the software I use as much as possible to mainstream companies, & trust that updates are ok to install on the basis that if there is a problem it will get sorted in the next release.

I'm not sure about the Flash product updates, but as the WGT game screen software has been developed on Flash, I would expect WGT to at least make sure your software works with any updates in Flash.

But I don't think the problem is anything to do with Flash anyway. The problem with sending mssgs is to do with the main start screen functionality, & not the game screen.

    2.
As far as if the issue is to do with a javascript problem, & you say you don't know who can fix this, how on earth do you expect the users to?

    3. or 4.
I assume your point 3. refers to my point 4. about running multiple browsers? If so, your response is simply unacceptable. You say you run 3 or 4 browsers with diff versions of Flash which is a sure way to troubleshoot many issues, but THAT'S YOUR JOB!

I am a user of the game & will happily feedback info about the problems I come across & try new things suggested by you, but have no desire or intention of troubleshooting problems with your software.  I also have no desire or reason to run multiple browsers, and am happy with the Google Chrome I am using.

    5.
In my last job (after 25yrs service), I was heavily involved with testing a new Operations software system developed on the dot.net platform, and from my limited knowledge of the things involved here, believe there has to be a problem somewhere in WGT's own software script.

And as myself & others have indicated previously, being able to communicate with our WGT friends & CC members is a fundamental part of playing a 'social network' game such as WGT.

Can you please look into this in more detail from your side & advise.

    Tks & rgds

    1. That;'s the Utopian belief but alas it's just that.  Few weeks ago, if you check around these forums, you will see that Firefox introduced new version of software and it completely crashed with flash. I think it took 2 weeks to sort it out. Mind you firefox and flash are likely at least 100x our size and yet they had this issue.

We had no notification or anything of sort and only became aware of it when users upgraded and started having issues.  Then, of course, they went on firefox/flash forums and found many similar posts and were told to downgrade.

    2. JavaScript is not as simple as it sounds. It's a programming language that interacts between browsers, so like flash, it has many compatibility issues.

    3&4

Why so? I realize that you like 1 browser but you are having problems that most users do not, so I have asked you to try a few things and explained why. Do you have to use other browsers? Not at all, do you need them installed, not at all, so after you troubleshoot it, feel free to remove it.

Software product will never be flawless and at best it will work well but never without bugs or crashes. Such is the nature of it.

As you have said, the issue maybe on our end, I can't be sure... Right now, I am trying to figure it out if it's on your end or not, so then once we rule it out we can move on.

    Ntd.

    3. & 4.
Firstly, others in this thread have indicated similar probs, & that they've existed for a while. whether it's a common prob or not I would have no idea of course. I will try using IE, see what happens & revert.

Not sure if this will help find the problem but it has been happening on and off for several months with various levels of flash.

Just now I went to PM a friend and all I got was the "Add as Friend" option despite several screen refreshes, logging out and in again and clearing flash and browser caches so eventually I gave up and did a wallpost.

After posting the screen refreshed and there was my wall post as well as the "Block Challenges", "Send a message" and "Remove Friend" buttons.

Nothing changed on my end in the 90 seconds or so it took to do that so from here it looks like a bug in the coding - hope that helps.

Firstly my apologies, looks like I should have tried a diff browser first as you suggested. Tried using IE, and the mssg buttons all now appear as expected.

Don't really like IE & would prefer to go back to using Chrome for WGT. But it does look like the problem is to do with Chrome, which may or may not be anything to do with Flash. I know I thought it wasn't, but I was wrong about the browser too.

There has been another add to this thread by Ffudd, indicating again that others do have problems with this as well. I will use IE for WGT for mssgs for the time being but please advise the next step.

    TeeTimeSmitty:

We are having an irons only(for credits) tourney in our CC=High On Rocky Top. On the first day I and another person shot even scores. On that day it said I was the leader and he was 2nd. The very next day,at the top of page it said he was the leader but I was first place. Although in the leader board it said I was 2nd place. This only started happening after the new format of several rounds or courses. Deffinately a bug here!! Also I have been stuck on 85 consecutive days played for over a week now even though I've played several games each day. It took me a while to catch this, thought it was just me not remembering. NOT SO. My game is also gone very irratice since being stuck on 85 days. Need an answer to both of these issusesWGT!!!!

I think you've added this to the wrong thread TeeTime & need to post as a separate bug. This is just about the problem with sending mssgs & the buttons in friends profils.

Not sure if Java have released a new update but mine hasnt been updated for months, I tried updating it but no new releases can be found.

I have also tried using IE but I get the same problems as i described earlier.

Remember, If you think you need an update for something, Try Google, It is your friend if used right.
