Hole #5, 26ft putt, up 5in. I hit 100% perfect line, but stops 2ft before the hole.
Similar situation happens from time to time, quite often on #5.

Seems to me that you calculate the scale by the distance from the flag but without taking uphill/downhill into consideration.

As it is now this put is not possible at all in the game.
If we could ajust the scale this would not be a problem.

Pls give us an adjust possibility, or add/subtract uphill/downhill to the distance when you calculate the scale. Hope you also add 10%.

    Tom.

A player puts a good stroke on a tee shot from the 5th hole. The ball lands softly and rolls to a stop 26 feet below the flag. The cup is 4" above the players feet. This requires a putt greater than 30 feet to asure the correct distance is put on the stroke. The default putter is 30.. A good line and a pure swing is taken. Guess where the ball goes. 29'-8" in the heart..........? Nice Par! Then the same player is standing in the middle of the 9th fairway and is looking at 175 yards to the flag stick. Looking at the options there are two. Hit enough club to carry the green and leave a birdie putt. Or leave it short and take their chances on a chip shot and most likely manage par. I need a birdy is the thought process on this day. So the the player chooses to hit a controled 3H with back spin to the fringe and see what happens. Well its struck a little to well and carrries over the fringe landing on the green where it runs out to about 56 feet behind the hole. Now the cup is 8" below the players feet requiring a putt of about 48 feet to knock it close and save par, or better yet leak it in the side door and leave the other players saying wow! Nice putt.... But in this case the default putter is the 150.... Now comes the question: Why cant this player have the option to switch between putter lengths to better suit the distance needed to get the ball close to the hole? This by no means would make either of these putts any easier.. Each player would still have to put the ball on the right line and hit it the right speed for the break and distance.. Is lack of this option punishing good play or not?.................... Thanks for your comments... cc

I find the putting scale to be an issue too... more specifically I'd like to see the putting 'power gauge' with 3 notches on it... 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 so you can get a better idea how hard you're putting... it can be pretty hard to judge as it is... just a though that would help me enjoy the game a lot more.

I have seen that link, but the problem is not the putting distance. It is the scale that sometimes makes it impossible to reach to the hole. When 100% stroke only goes 25 ft and the hole is 30 away I have a problem.

I enjoy playing, and my honnour to WGT for making the game, but I read it so that they like suggestions on the play from players. I too like suggestions for improvements when I make systems, and I have made lots of computer systems since I started with computers in 66. I also have playd golf for 19 years so I hope my remarks can be useful to WGT.

Regarding distance control I have written down a scale for myself in word. I put that up underneath the play screen. Have to lift up the play screen a bit. That gives me very good distance control. For putting I add/subtract 1 ft distance for each inch up/down. And I always add 2 ft of distance, 3ft on very long puts.

Hope this tips can be helpful.

    Hey Tom,

Yeah, I know the issue you are talking about... posted about it a couple of times.

Default club selections need to be addressed

The other link was for TJ... since he was asking...

I apreciate all that Lee and looked at the tutorial... if I can figure it all out instead of just eyeballing it that will be even better... but wouldn't a couple notches or even one at 50% make it a lot easier and fun to play? After all we're all here to have fun in the easiest way possible not do complex mechanical algorhthyms in order to sink a putt! ;)

Right now, same problem on #9.
    Scale = 30. Distance = 26 + 5in uphill. I shoot 100%. Perfect line, but 1.2ft too short.
With a larger scale this would have been birdie.

Still waiting for the option to change putter scale. It can't be that hard to give us an option to switch between 30, 60 and 150. Please help us out!!!
