    YankeeJim:

Links had lie factoring and did a great job of simulating it. You got the necessary lie information in a graphic and had to actually adjust the club face and swing plane to compensate.

IMO, If aiming  is the only adjustment there is going to be, that is going to be extremely lame.

I'd agree wiith this , Links LS had it down well.
There would HAVE to be another adjustment 'meter' of some kind.

No they won't. They'll need to log 100 ranked rounds before they go anywhere and that's after the change.

    You're right, my bad.

I also agree that those 100 additional could have been used to compute a new average (regardless prior average) in order to promote or not to tour legend. But then this would let the opportunity to some player to stay quite long (forever?) at legend tier and to avoid any promotion (they will probably be later some kind of sandbagging but at least this avoid to have it too soon).

It definitely opens to door for sandbagging among the best players. But, the fact that these people have made it to legend, and have posted the necessary ranked rounds to have a sub-60 average would make me think that gaming the system (with their main account at least ;) ) is not at the top of their priority list. I hope that most of these people have enough pride to want to get to that new tier ASAP. I'll bet there is some kind of competition among them to see who can get there first. I'm nowhere even remotely close to 60 (or 400 rounds at legend) right now, but I now have something new to strive for. The level 90 pro's are the biggest problem, and the newest 'fixes' do nothing to combat them, and in fact encourage them. In all seriousness... what's it take to make pro? Half a dozen rounds under par? They should have substituted 'Master' for 'Pro'.

i know sandbaggin seems to be a big issue but as long as money is involved that will always be an issue it wont ever go away ...... least they are trying minimize it :)

tour legend is another thing to strive for cept now with the way the game is leveling up so fast people are becoming legends in 3 to 5 months......so is tour legend really that big of a deal

now for the things that matter

new pins on kiawah and ccc ?

new equipment for higher levels like the R11s 3 wood for example ?

when can we expect these things to happen ?

So we won't be made Tour Legends over night, we have to play 100 ranked rounds 1st?

    yupps....

i'm not gonna rush to play them. i have just under 1000 ranked rounds already......so the new tier can wait a little longer for me. i think it's crazy that the legends with many 1000's of ranked rounds have to play another 100.

maybe i'll be known as a sandbagger legend.

    tbe

100 ranked rounds. I could do that in a week...lol

    I'm thinking the Tour Legend Ready go's might take a while to fill. We'd need 50 TL's 1st :)

What an utterly ridiculous suggestion, the golf course as laid out is the same for everyone, why the hell should better players have to deal with more severe conditions than anyone else.

OK, its raining , its raining, same for everyone, You all have an umbrella

It may seem ridiculous to some and not others.   Just think of a new member just starting, playing with starter clubs and balls.  You do not want to discourage that player but get them to like and enjoy the game.  Alot of members here do not play golf in real life. Lies, difficulty etc can all be explained in the FAQ section.

Secondly, keeping in mind that this is a computer simulation, one can increase the difficulty as you progress up through the tiers.

As for sandbagging, this issue has been discussed to death, with a lot of excellent suggestions made to combat this issue.

So, call me an idiot, I like to see the players having fun and at the same time the difficulty increases as the move up through the tiers.  Thus, they get an appreciation to the complexity of this game, and more importantly, building a long term customers.  Why is it so important to scare them away!

That's not only a question of pride, it's also a question of having time :) . I will certainly not rush for it nor slow things down. I am playing in average 100 rounds in 1 month. This is more or less the time it will take for me to reach that new tier once the change is made.

    Regards

I'm not good enough to get to that tier, and my performance in these WGT Nation tournaments says it all.

Thanks for the transcript Courtney01, very informative.

Heres my take on some issues

-Tour Legend ... wow, great idea and long overdue.  I havn't read all of the thread, but there must 100's of players under the 60 Ave. Not sure about how many of em play in the R/Go's.  Well If not many, it's a better chance to get more credits :)

-Sandbagging..  I just talk for me and not others,  When turning Legend there is nothing left for us to go for... TL with give most of us something to go for. I suppose if you sandbag, then you are just kidding yourself anyway, which I don't mind... less people to compete with....lol

-I've always said and still say...  We should all go back to the Future...lol.   Clubs should only be unlocked when you get promoted to a new Tier regardless of Level.

I wrote on a previous post...  I played a game off the Reds last week,  excuse my ignorance,    What a head spin that was...lol.  Meaning if you have good clubs and on a lower Tier... then you can do some real damage....lol

Unlocking clubs when you get promoted to a new Tier will be good for all of us.

    - I read in the Forum that the US PGA is played on Kia this year... If this is true, is that the reason for new Pin Placements... Are we going to have another Major on KIa....hehehe

    -Roger
