Just get a set and plug them into the speaker port. Nothing else to do.  :-)

Will that allow you to chat with other players while you play? That's what I am trying to accomplish.....thanks for the response!

I believe you would need to download a program like skype to chat

Thought you might be thinking about Skype. The microphone is the only thing that you need to get if your PC doesn't have one built in. You can get headphone/mic sets anywhere (like WalMart) for as little as $20-$30. With Skype installed just plug into that speaker port and you're done!

Skyping and golfing is great, too. All four in a group on Skype is as good as it gets.  :-)

Yes, the headphone is just a listening device but Skype has a lot of stuff going on that could affect performance. Things like friend alerts, who logs on, messages, etc. There are options to turn that stuff off and that helps a lot. It isn't like there's a lot of background computing going on, you're basically on the phone playing.

Ventrillo is what 7th is talking about.

The headphones are really useful when Skyping and playing WGT - sometimes when I am  playing against Mbaggese his dogs start barking - and if I dont have my headphones on then that sets off my pack of mongrels - which in turn feedbacks to Mikes dogs etc......
