    WGF Tour 2012 - Week 5

         The Qatar Masters

       The Qatar Masters

    Round 3 Cut

    As with the real life Qatar Masters, the WGF version was also held up due to “inclement conditions”. The WGT update caused some lost game time so the cut deadline was extended through to 8pm to allow players to get their games played.

    WGT legend Stevenharkin leads the way having missed a few weeks of the tour so far. With his unerring consistency, he was one of the bookies pre-tour favourites but so far other leading players such as AllyKennedy and LuisCraveiro have taken up the early running at the top of the overall standings.

    The conditions have caused for a mixture of scoring with a range from 26 (Tanneralis) down to over 40 at the ever difficult Oakmont. With 16 players within 3 shots of the lead, Steven’s still not going to have an easy ride through to the finish of this event.

    Pairings follow in the link below. Please look to get your rounds organised ASAP. I’ll also give a small extension to the R3 finish time through until 3pm on Monday.

    Round 3 Conditions

    Course = Royal St Georges (Back 9)
    Hole Location = N/A
    Tees = White (Medium)
    Green speed = Tournament
    Winds = High
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    End of R3 = Monday 6th August 2012 at 3pm GMT
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Please use the link below to find your designated partner. Try to make all attempts to play with this individual but if it's not possible use the following method:

    - use one of the ten R3 Markers (named in first post); markers are to remember that their first round counts as their R3 score

    - if not possible, use a WGF Tour player who you have not partnered with during R1 and R2

    - please always update your designated partner if you do use a marker

    Played my round 1 with Eagleeyes1 (Scott). Very nice guy and we both had a mixed bag of fortune, mine virtually all bad. Lip out on 4, missed eagle at 7 when the ball dived left at the hole by 5 inches , had a meter spurt force my putt to be hit late on 8 to go by too from 4.6 feet away! Then my playing partner had a few harsh situations that he got himself out of but then he rallied well with a beautifully struck ace on 8! That's my SECOND playing partner to do that whilst with me on the WGF tour now. I must be a lucky foil!

    Round 1, got my first ever ACE...whoo hoo. My partner had some very unlucky putts and really should have had a round of 28 or 29.

    A quick question: can I play Week 5 rounds, if I didn't played yet Week 4 round 3?

    Yes BIGSAUR. You can play both rounds 1 and 2 for week 5 BEFORE you play round 3 for week 4. Just remember that you only have until 12pm GMT on Monday to get your 3rd round in. Good luck to ya and may the force be with you!
