    kingpin82:

patipoo, this is because when move up to a new tier your scoring ave starts fresh again.

for eg, if you shoot a 28 for 9 holes on your first ranked round as a legend your ave will be 56....so when you play your first ranked round as a master, your first score at that tier will determined your average....so try and make some low scores on your first few ranked rounds as master, you will have less work to do in the long run :)

renniw52, i think the above has a lot to do with it also, its not just about shooting super low scores right of the bat, but its how you manage your average when you move to a new tier.

A lot of players will not post bad scores when they move to a new tier, so this means when your average starts to stabalise you will need less ranked rounds than normal to get to that next tier. i tried to do this when i first turned legend, but let me tell you i could not shoot under 31 in probably the first 50 ranked rounds as a legend.....so now i have much work to do to get in the 50,s :\

    WGTicon:

    It is possible.

The best example I can give you is runwme, I think last year, he did it all in 1 month. From what he told me is he played like 300+ rounds in  that month.

That's a common misconception....but his history tells us.

Runwme Moved Up To Legend Tier on October 16, 2011

It only took me 8 weeks to make Legend. The game isn't that hard to master. Hitting the ding is the challenge.

    Renn,

what I don't understand is why you care! I 've been here longer than you and have a ways to go before Legend status. But I could never play 250 ranked rounds in 6 weeks! Nor do I want to. I just am not that dedicated to a virtual golf game! Cmon man, relax and enjoy the game and don't worry so much about things you have no control over.

    renniw52:

I know this is your space, but, please explain to all the members on WGT, how a player can go from a hack to a Legend in 6 weeks. Another in 10 weeks. I don't need to mention names here(a big no no), because you know who they are. Please explain, why thousands of players have spent a lot of money, and countless hours, moving through the ranks, and all of a sudden it is possible to reach the tips in 6 weeks and 250 ranked rounds. The masses are waiting for an answer on this one.

Icon, he's referring to me as one of the players who did this ..

so i invite you, Icon & Co, to investigate my history .. publish the result on the forum for all i care ..

    i made it in 10 weeks .. in 188 ranked rounds .. fairly .. legit ..

obviously practice rounds as well .. maybe 1/3 of my ranked rounds ..

and i don't consider myself that good .. just determined .. it's a mindgame; as i have stated in response on another thread .. u know which one .. go and see my response to "BOB" .. possibly it might shed some light on the "issue" ..

there are players much better than this too (as seen on this thread) .. it stands to reason that this is more than possible .. and not that hard .. at all

Either way you slice the pie making Legend on here isn't really a great life accomplishment. It's not like you're getting a PGA tour card or anything. lol

Well said Dylyn! And TY for your service!!!!

Thank you for your service DylynJ,I to am a vet of Vietnam war,I am so glad that you have gotten help for PTSD,hang in there,I cant put myself in your shoes as yours in mine,Its a battle you can win..

You are so right that we can not get a PGA card, lol(that would be funny)..But being unable to do most normal things folks can do,to me this would be an accomplishment, and i am looking forward to the longer tees..

                      Good Luck sir

With the level up boosts.... easy to get to mid even lower/upper quality clubs within days of starting.  Anyone who is historically a gamer and played other golf games can adapt to WGT meters easily.... Myself not having any of that made legend at 375 rounds and 7 months.... if I had the time to play 8 to 12 ranked 9 holes per day, and the boosts could have easily done it in 4 to 6 weeks..... it is possible....  concur with spammage its not the guy making it to legend in few weeks that bothers me he is striving to be best....and will compete on equal ground once there at Legend.... its the ones that hold back, avoid ranked rounds to win credits from others that bother me.... of course best way to avoid them don't play with nobody but legends unless you know them....

Not saying its so but should be pretty easy for WGT admins to look at that forum where it was discussed and see if those accounts received many level boosts as gifts from 1 particular account which would pretty much prove a mutli accounter is present....

who cares how long or how many rounds it took anyone to get legend?

low level legends are at a big disadvantage due to best gear being level locked.

Legends are NOT the problem in any way here.

the problem is OGUTs (Over-Geared, Under-Tiered) players. What exactly is the point of even having tiers if gear isn't tied to it?
