    Hello ‘Fellow Duffers’,

My name is James Patterson, and my user name is ‘criptype1960’.  I was honored when ‘Senior Aceydeucey’ Invited me to join this country club. Some may already know of me from seeing my piteous scores that I have already posted.  I will say up front that,  I am a quadriplegic, paralyzed from my shoulders, down, and my sole monthly income is in the form of Social Security. It will not be long before my budget will be in order and then I will be actively spending on upgrading my equipment.  I am 52 years old and have been in this condition since July 21, 1995, ‘from a swimming accident’. I use adaptive tools to help me  accomplish the tasks it takes to perform my goals needed to play this game accurately using my laptop. I ‘’do-not’’ seek pity from this statement and/or any slack from competitors.  I ask only that ‘Duffer members’ will consider allowing me the time to adjust so when I am able to purchase the proper equipment, ‘criptype1960’ will indeed be a competitor to be reckoned with.

Thank you for your time and all consideration from you pertaining to this matter.  Thanx again for the invite…

    James Patterson – criptype1960

Hi James, my name is Mike (mike0424) and I am glad to meet you. Welcome aboard! Maybe we can play a few rounds sometime.

I pasted this from Excel. It is a spreadsheet I made up and I use it on the green, that is if I reach it. Each putter has a choice of putt distances (which I call increments)  which can be changed by the blue up and down arrow to the right of the distance reading. Using the Putter Pal I calcuted the distance of each increment. On the green the distance to the hole is given in feet with the elevation in inches. On the green with standard green speed I guesstimate that each inch elevation up or down is approximately one foot. As an example, if the distance to the hole is 23 feet and the change in elevation is 5 inches down, and the putter increment is 30, I will look in the 30 column and choose the % closest to 18 (23-5 = 18). I have made two eagles using this method.

Each putt distance can be controlled by movements of the putter which can be approxiated by each movement of the putter. In the second section I approximated these movements.

    Putt increments 5 10 15 20 30 50 60 90 100 150 300
    25% 1.25 2.5 3.75 5 7.5 12.5 15 22.5 25 37.5 75
    33% 1.65 3.3 4.95 6.6 9.9 16.5 19.8 29.7 33 49.5 99
    50% 2.5 5 7.5 10 15 25 30 45 50 75 150
    66% 3.3 6.6 9.9 13.2 19.8 33 39.6 59.4 66 99 198
    75% 3.75 7.5 11.25 15 22.5 37.5 45 67.5 75 112.5 225
    Putt increments 5 10 15 20 30 50 60 90 100 150 300
    Movements 2 2 5 4 6 5 12 9 12.5 15 30
    Ydg per Mvt 2.5 5 3 5 5 10 5 10 8 10 10

I hope this helps. Please feel free to copy these calculations and share them with the community. A bad day at golf is better than the best day at work, unless of course your namde is Tiger or Phil.
