Tell the engineers to go Buy and play MS LInks 2003  before they implement this.

Then they'll know how it works in a golf game that has been around for a long time and plays with these features well. I believe wholeheartedly that b4 they implement this they need to also implement being able to change the club face and position in your stance so players can better compensate for these conditions.  After playing some more rounds and played some in Links 2003 to see the difference.  Most everything out of the rough and around the greens are way over exagerated.

well WGT, people DID ask for this ..

but clearly a lot of fine tuning is needed here .. i would go as far as to say that the effect should be reduced by up to 60% to bring it closer to what happens IRL ..

it would also be prudent to intro a genuine draw/fade feature before the the lie feature is finally rolled out into ranked games, AFTER reducing the current lie effect behaviour ..

    +1

    + 2

Not sure 60% is fair, but it is still something to start with.

Indeed, the draw - fade part of the shot would be important particularly with high winds.

Lets say you have a fairway fading right-left  & need to approach a green fading the same direction with an strong wind also from right-left....simply impossible to land close to the flag, with the uneven lie, unless you land on the rough and the ball rolls down close to the hole.....that is not what WGT or any player would like to see.

In order to compensate the fairway, wind & green same fading direction you need to fade or even slice the ball so much to try to land the ball as vertically as possible. In reality you can do this even with high irons.

Until now the draw-fade shot can be done by hitting early or late the meter with the woods and the 3-5 iron, but has not what so ever effect in irons lower then 5.

You can adjust the back or top spin but moving the dot on the ball up or down, why not doing the draw-fade moving the dot on the ball right or left?, programming this should not be that difficult, I could imagine.

Yup, we did ask for this uneven shot and it sounds and feel awesome, but it is still only a test, it need to be tweaked a lot or a bit until better and more realistic figures are found. and should not be officially released without a solution for the draw-fade shot too, I think.

Are you willing to hit backwards (away from the green) in order to get out of a terrible lie in the bunker?, until now only in St. Andrews bunkers and in a few bunkers at St. George was need it. The way the uneven lie is now, you will have many more situations on any course bunker.

Love the red-yellow-green tip from the lie display, it warns you perfectly if the shot can be done & the risk of missing the shot.

In my opinion this uneven lie feature is here now .....& forever.

Try playing back nine at Olympic:):)

I played all 18 at Olympic with the free ball and shot only 2 over. I thought it was very realistic.

Count me in for a +1.  A much needed change to make the game more realistic and challenging.  I agree that it will need to be tweaked and I am sure the WGT folks will be working on this.  The use of forward and back spin will be helpful for the uphill, downhill lies and club selection will take some getting used to but I see that as an adjustment, no more.  Love the fact that it affects chipping from the fringe too.  Side hill lie with break on the green, too cool.  I also agree that when it gets implemented in ranked rounds it should probably apply to higher levels only and not the learners.   Another level of complexity was much needed... bravo!  C

PS - WGT might want to consider freezing averages for a few rounds when implemented for ranked rounds.  There should be a learning curve period for everyone.  Also agree that the ability to fade and draw would be helpful - just as top and back spin will be - to compensate for the lie.

Thanks for all the great feedback we are gathering the shot data now and will be tuning uneven lies accordingly

Maybe some sort of measurement next to the boxes...degree`s of incline and stuff!

A bit pot luckish at the moment(only had a couple of go`s).

It should only be higher level players if implemented into the full game....newbies would find it all too confusing!

yup, numerics (degrees) on uneven lies would be helpful ..

Not sure about this... you don't get actual degrees of slope playing golf in real life.  There should be some amount of guesswork involved.

If what we're seeing now is 100%, I'd back it off to 80% and see how that goes.

BTW, love the idea overall. :-)
