Rebooting and restarting a car seem similar.

I can generally reboot if necessary in about 2.5 minutes or less.  I think reducing the wait to 3 minutes gives everyone enough time to get back in the game.

Very  good point icon but the percentage thing tells who is & who isn't a little thanks for that one WGT.

why do people here think rebooting their computer will fix anything whatsoever?

    Because it does.

if your car is running badly, will turning it off and restarting it, "fix" anything?

The two are different. If you reset the computer chip in the car, it will fix something. Surely you know the difference between resetting a computer & restarting a car.

    Are you starting with me?

rebooting a computer won't fix a darn thing.

resetting a car's computer chip also won't fix anything, it just resets the chip, any problems will remain, and the chip will report them. in fact u need to correct the problems the car's chip is reporting in order to have the chip stop reporting the problem.

You know absolutely nothing about either car chips or computers other than how to restart them, which in no way, whatsoever, corrects the underlying problems.

I will personally admit to not being a computer nerd in a proud manner.

I do know that on the rare occasion that my game freezes, it can often freeze the entire internet connection.  I don't generally reboot the whole machine, just clear out of the browser that I am in and restart a new one.

There are occasions when I have found that it still won't work and restarting the computer or my internet router is the only thing that lets me back in.  That generally takes me 2.5 minutes at a maximum.

Oh dear me. Your lack of knowledge is monumental!

Re-booting a computer clears RAM, flushes CACHE and resets programs, system files and hardware. It 'fixes' many many things.

I was just betweem the 2nd and 3rd holes at  Wolf Creek and when I came back from a butt break the game was gone"UNEXPECTED ERROR HAS OCCURED".  Great.  Now Norton had stared and was scanning and deleting browser history and wither this was the cause of the ERROR I don't know.  Looks like them credits are DOWN THE DRAIN.

I started a round with 2 other players. It took us 34 mins ( 12 strokes, 3 pars ) to finish the first hole because of players continually getting booted. That's ridiculous. I kept coming back and finally finished on my own. The other 2 either quit or couldn't reconnect. People see my 70% disconnection rate and think I quit whenever I have a bad round. I haven't voluntarily quit a round for a long time. At least on stroke play, you have a chance to come back. ALT shot is another matter. The last 6 ALT shot games I've started haven't been finished because someone couldn't stay connected. One person can't reconnect and everyone's % goes down. Not very well planned, WGT. Why not give out free balls or something until you get the game working properly? People don't like spending $ on something that doesn't work.
