    Kurtsbuford:

Great job on the tournament guys, too bad to see some players drop out at this point as we are nearly completed, with such few issues too.   Good luck to everyone in the final round 4........im actually thinking i might take up some practice for this one.   LOL

Then join our game (1:30pm PST today for 9 holes) ;)

    Cheers, Hans

All I do to practice is play 3 random holes and repeat, that way u don't get bored and u don't know what holes u will get.

U don't bother with ur score but learn what the slopes effect is. Deliberately miss the green and practice those little shots.

Round 4 for Corwyn and Macduff10:

I recovered from a ropey start (2 bogeys off the bat), to shoot a very solid 70, birdieing both the front 9 par 3s to get back to even, and parring every hole on the back 9. Tee to green, and with the up and downs, I was as good as I've ever played this course (which sure is hard!), but with the putter, felt like some missed opportunities. I had 9 putts between 10-22 ft that missed, many of which were tantalizingly close. Oh well, that's life.

Edit: Mac's right, I really shouldn't complain about the putting. I did hole everything under 10 ft which really helps when you're relying on a lot of up and downs. I'll be really curious to see what the best GIR is this week.

Mac had a harder time, suffering from a couple of very strange VEM incidents, and the challenges of hitting and holding these tough greens. Our only birdies were the par 3s, with Mac almost holing her tee shot on #15.

Nonetheless, she declared she had fun, despite the difficulties. This really was a fitting course to end the tourney on. It is comfortably the toughest challenge. Again, I get to throw down the gauntlet, and ask if anyone can break par here!

Ditto round 4 for Corwyn & me.  He played great steady golf.  Always seemed to make the right choice for a shot.  I got a lesson in prudence, but I'm not sure I'll retain it. And he complained a couple times about his poor putting, but I saw no such flaw in his game.  Nice going Corwyn.

I lived up to my billing as a sparrow in peacock's clothing.  Crazy shots aside, I was very lucky not to shoot in triple figures. Fun round.  Good tourney.

My screen shots of our stats may be redundant, since Corwyn got them all. I will include them anyway. Here goes:

Twins on tour, Strawbridgemicha and alosso.

Both had a great start, quite easy Pars on #1. Then the working session began.

No birds were flying over Olympic, and the big question was, "Who's to break 80?"

No such lucky guy, but it was good fun in good company!

Micha brought more than a handful putts real close, none to fall today. I tried POWER approaches, with varying success, ending on all sides of the greens. @18, I had 86 yds from sloping FW. I hit 137 w/ bs, only to find the front of the green and roll till the end (GIR). Today I aimed to the windows, Hans - lol!

Starting from #1, we noticed our parallel play, short or long, good and bad. We saw twinning balls in between, too :) The driving stats at the end reflects this: 2x 221 yds.

My best shot is not from today, but from Practice With A Legend (Hans).

    For the leaderboard:

    alosso: score 80, GIR 33%, av.dist. 36.3 ft

    Strawbridgemicha: score 83, GIR 28%, av.dist. 53.3 ft

    (submitted both)

And, for the fun of it, the driving stats. Twins in 221 yds :)
