If you need 60-90 seconds to take a shot, your not having fun here, you are way too serious.

Gotta P, have a smoke & quick chat to the missus on the way past back to the computer.......all in all takes about 80 seconds....plus 10 secs for me shot........

    1. What a pathetic philistine writes something like that ? Ignore it ... and ready ...

    2. A loser against a windmill ... Any questions ?

    3. Some people have working real in live, need and like some adrenalin.  And with enough adrenalin, you will be have a young heard in to the old years.

    4. Something i can tell you about this idiots they like to play with this rush. They have a nice training, for reaktion and  accuracy.

    5. See on the fairwhay ... Cad61

About 1 :  Unnecessary and unprovoked insult.

    About 2 :  No questions.

About 3 :  Most of us play in our free time, have jobs, and love WGT !

About 4 :  You are the only one using that "I" word to describe "players" that this post is not criticizing neither offending.

About 5 :  Thank you for the invitation, very kind of you, but ... no thanks ;)

Par 4 and 5 tee shots usually don't require more than 20 seconds.  Some fine-tuning shots definitely need more time.  I would conclude that one should set or get into 60-90 second games, depending on course selection I guess, and try to persuade players to move swiftly and use time extensions only on really demanding shots that most of us know already.  Just agreeing on most opinions expressed here.

I just opt not to play in 30 sec matches. I'll play 45 or 60 in blitzes and in practice (unranked) rounds - unless they're part of a Tourney set-up. Ranked games and 'money-matches', I insist on 90 secs.

Why? I play 2/3 or more of my shots in well under 30 secs. Playing solo I finish most 9 hole rounds in 10 - 12 minutes or so, which works out to about 0.3 or 0.4 min - about 18 - 24 seconds a shot.

But If I have a tricky short-in approach shot or putt, I reserve the right to take a bit of time to analyze it for proper shot type, line selection for putts, and dealing with the occasional riddle putt - like that 60 foot breaking putt to a lower tier pin from an upper tier green lie.

Don't like it? Don't play me.

30 second timer is too quick.  60 Second is good.  90 second is ok.

I'm pretty quick from tee to green...  On the greens it might take me a bit longer. So 60 seconds is good. Now saying that... I never use the whole clock for my shots.

The 90 second clock is ok,  gives us blokes a chance to find a tree, or get a another drink.

I have done the take your time line several times, just before taking my shot, I will let the group know, after my shot I am grabbing a beer, have to pee real quick or whatever, be back in 45 seconds, this is courtesy, taking the full 90 seconds on every single shot is total Bull$hit. When you have a 3.4 ft putt, your are either waiting for the concede, or just trying to agitate your opponents. I will hang in and not say a word, but it is not necessary. Due the math, if you have 9 shots in an AS round and take the full 90 seconds each shot, you have made the other 3 wait 13 1/2 minutes for your diddling around. Totally un-excusable. You should really stick to Golfsturbating and play with yourself.

    +3

    +4 - Q beat me :)

I'd set up 60 secs for a match with strangers, that's plenty for most shots, and a lil pressure is better than boring waiting for slow play games and whatnots.

With friends, 90 secs are o.k. for me for talking and some banter.

I'd accept 30 or 45 secs only if I'm in for some pressure shootout - like speed chess :)
