Do you agree that the 5 min. reconnect time is too long?

I do.  After playing three multiplayer games today and having four players just quit the game without forfeiting,   I came to the conclusion that the 5 minute wait time to allow a player to reconnect is way way too long.   I think 2 minutes is enough time for players to resolve pc issues and reconnect.    If you're like me you just want to play the game, have some fun, and not have to wait around because some folks get frustrated and quit because they hit  a couple of bad shots.

    What do you think?

Five minutes is not too long to wait if a player is struggling to return to the game.  It's way too long when the guy is long gone, off to waste somebody else's time.

It would be good if when I disconnect on you, and you're watching the 5 min timer count down, you would have an option like this:

    2) Quit waiting.  If your opponent returns within his 5 minutes, YOU will forfeit the game if you leave now.  If your opponent does not return, HE forfeits.

No I think 5 minutes is about right. Sometimes you have to reboot your PC when you get disconnected. Mine takes a little over 4 minutes to reboot and reconnect to WGT.

I think that if your situation is so bad that you need to reboot your machine,
you should gracefully give up the game and not force your playmates to wait,
unless you can boot and load client in 90 seconds.

the lobby should be for small things like browser crash, flash errors,
disconnections, and anything else that can be solved under a minute and a half.

90 seconds should be sufficient to clean cache log in and carry on.
need to rebooting is a rare thing, and thus shouldn't be a reason for such a long waiting time.

rebooting doesnt take that long and is sometimes necessary for people with issues or lower end machines. Even on my dinosaur machine I can reboot in 2 mins 30 secs so come on just wait the 5 mins it aint gonna kill you.

I play a regular 4 some AS game once a week and as happens a lot in AS games somebody gets kicked at least once a round, and last time it was me. I had to go all the way out and log back in to WGT, wait for the main game screen to load and I got to the lobby with about 10 seconds to spare,  so I'd say 5 min. just about right. Besides it's only 5 min. out of your game time so slow down relax and enjoy the full 5 minutes of that wonderful WGT theme song!

Maybe they should change it to 4 minutes and ask for feedback. It sounds like a good compromise to me.

One of the issues which makes 5 minutes necessary is the advertising pop up you sometimes get when you have someone break the connection. It then messes up your connection and it takes 3 or more attempts to get back in.

Sometimes when this happens I have to use anothr browser to get back in.
