Too much weight on match play..........

Your right.. we're suddenly going to find legends all over the place deservedly or not, just because they got up in a couple of match play games

Andrew, your scores indicate you deserve legend status, but Choppo's statement is true. As for me I am happy as TM until I reach level 150, then it will probably be time to tier up lol.

Do we need is a tier-based practice mode? If atm I want to play someone in a matchplay and not have it count we have to play off the same tees. Fine if they're a legend ; not so much if they're not.

I don't care about my stats so I'm all good playing practice rather than ranked MPs but the problem is that you have to set the tees for both players. Could there be an option in practice, as well as the four tee settings, of "tier"?

"I beat a Legend in another fun match.....and my avg drops from 65.5 to 64.48?"

agreed .. Chippo, hope u're not pissed at me .. i'll take down the next game, promise ..

clearly, too much weight is lent to matchplay .. i was a bit stunned myself to see his avg drop by 1.28, to be exact ..

players might find themselves in tiers prematurely while they might feel that they aren't ready for it yet ..

not that i personally think u aren't ready Chip, but i happen to know u wanna spend more time at TM since u recently got there .. quite naturally .. i would also be peeved if my avg were dropped down a mineshaft simply cause i beat a higher tier .. especially if i just recently hit my current tier ..

this was the 1st matchplay game i played in a while .. and Chippo is a friend of mine .. i'd be pretty damn upset if my friends don't wanna play me cause of this avg dilemma attached to matchplay rounds .. WGT, really, u gotta sort this ..

it seems grotesquely skewed .. i busted my ass to get my own avg below 60 in increments of 0.01 or 0.02 ..

it's no wonder these players are ticked off ..

    Choppography:
I lose to a TM in a fun match...no change.  I beat a Legend in another fun match.....and my avg drops from 65.5 to 64.48?

    Choppography:
Too much weight on match play............especially when the match isn't even for credits.  When you get this under control, are you going to restore my average back to it's rightful spot?

Hm, I believe the new system was only supposed to include MP challenges. If no credits were involved, this must be a major mistake in programming! And the majority of people who will pay the price for this are innocent! Wgt? Some answers?

    My exact point.

If the match were for credits, I'd kind of have to be ok with it.  But, it wasn't.....it was for fun, only scored so we could track the results for a fun Ladder System we've implemented in our own club.

Chris, I'm not jaked that you said the match was vs you.  I just didn't use your name because I didn't tell you ahead of time I was putting it in here.  Didn't want to drag YOU into something you may not have wanted a part of.  Just looking out for friends, ya know?

For me, the reason I don't want to move up to Legend super quickly is because I don't spend my own money here yet.  I have done everything I've done through practice and the surveys/vids.  It's a source of pride to me so I can encourage those that complain about having to spend tons of money here that they do actually have an option to keep it free (regional video/survey access discussions aside).

It took me 115ish rounds to make Master.  It took me an additional 135ish rounds to make TM......that was a real struggle.  I looked forward to the same struggle......or worse......to Legend.  I figured it gave me plenty of time to save credits (hopefully earn some through RG's or challenges) and upgrade my equipment along the way....on pace with the tier promotions.

I just want to know what is going to happen when you tone down the match play scoring aspect....effectively admitting you were too harsh in the beginning.  It's not like uneven lies where the experiment is only for practice/fun.  Scoring and promoting tiers is a permanent change we can't be demoted from.  How do you correct this injustice to the innocent players you are affecting?

Maybe this new system should only count for Hacks to Pros.

No, some of the worst sandbaggers (like from that infamous CC) are tour masters, so it certainly needs to apply to all. But totally agree that non-money match play shouldn't be considered for average calculation and money match play should be considered proportionally to money involved... I also think that money and non-money match play should NOT add to the same statistics, as some baggers win a money match and then intentionally lose a non-money match, keeping their win rate around half, in this way deceiving people who would not play them otherwise...

I`m a level 91 Master, with 423 cdp. I am a casual player. Other than the regular CTTH courses, I have only played in 1 nine hole tournament. I dont play for credits, and I play single stroke play practice rounds. For me , this game is a pass time that I enjoy playing. So when you look at my profile, does that make me a sandbagger? The only players that are complaining, are those that play outside of their respected tiers against lower tiered players for credits. If you are a Legend or Tour Legend, you have no business playing with hacks , amateurs or any players below the Master tiers at all.                                                                                                                                                                                                     Of course WGT is also to blame for this problem as well. With the level up drinks and bars,it`s very easy to see hacks, pros, and tour pros at these high levels of 70-90. Many of these players do so, because they want the better clubs and balls. So for the most part, I dont see how the problem will be fairly resolved. What I do see is that many players like myself, will have to pay the price for the problems caused, and that`s not fair. I will reach Legend when I feel that I want too. I dont have anything to prove to any one. All that I want to do ,is play golf and be left alone. Happy Swinging
