In reading the many, many entries made concerning sandbagging I come to this conclusion.

Sandbagging appears to be a device in which a player gains an advantage over another by misrepresenting their true abilities, to win credits/prizes etc.

Considering this as a fact, it is obvious that there are indeed many players such as I who struggle to improve our game, buy the best equipment we can afford, and play regularly for our own entertainment, not for credits/prizes.

As such there appears to be a one solution fits all mentality.  A great many leisure players have already commented about it and pointed out the unfairness of the present solution.

What is happening now is very simular to the solution adopted by WGT about 2 years ago when they made wholesale promotions overnight.  The system has been suffering from this ever since.

I frequently look at all of this and wonder WHY?  Is it driven by the squeaky wheel, the dollar, or is it perhaps the unknowing trying to perform another miracle?

It is so clear that there are 2 classes of players here, with a great deal of overlap that it should demand attention to each type of player as being separate and finding a "Workable" solution to each type.  MY Nickle.

When you can go to the pro shop and buy a new level for 300 credits I don't see how you can police this fairly.

    LukasDad:
But I just can't be compettive with starter clubs at the Master tier. Nobody can. And then the fun is gone. And I just don't understand why I can't be left at the Tour Pro tees with the limited clubs I can afford.

Here's what I don't understand. Why would so called recreational players even be influenced by a tier change. I'm pretty sure they don't compete for any top tourney spots and play games for credits. The rest doesn't change. You can be a legend and play MP or skins or stroke play in practice mode for fun with your friends from hack tees until the day this game stops existing. It does have a slight influence on ALT shot games, but only on your partner (if your driver isn't long enough for your tees), the rest of the game does not change. Tiers only come into play only when people play for credits and in tournaments. And if they want to do that, they stop being recreational players and need to buy clubs and practice their behinds off.

P.S.: People usually don't mind spending a small amount to enhance their pleasure. A good set of clubs costs less than a hooker, lasts longer and is much more gratifying. I choose not to look at it as paying for pixels, it's more like a tip for a job well done to people who brought this game to life and made it possible for me to enjoy it.

It's great to see you guys making some changes in regards to sandbaggers. I went to bed as a Master and woke up this morning as Tour Master. I was hoping to get to level 83 for some longer clubs before this happened but I can't say that I'm not stoked. Looking forward to the challenge and thanks for being proactive on this matter!

    LukasDad:

And just what is this inevitable challenge?

Spending real money to buy fake golf clubs?

The long short of it is, yes. When you tier up, there's a real challenge to face. Most players will want to take on the challenge of the next tier. All players tiered up through the first four tiers to Tour-Pro, and then continued to tier up to face the inevitable challenges that lie ahead in this game.

It takes an investment in this game to be competitive, or to even have a sense of accomplishment in those challenges. This is the WGT model for the most part, IMO.

Iam at level 91 master have been there since level40 my bag is full of most of the top clubs and i have got them all by the surveys.

My average is 67.45 my best score for 18holes is 66.

I play on here most days am a member of a cc play in all there free touraments.

never played on here where i have to pay to play someone and never will as it really hurts to say i will never be good enough to do that.

My aim is always to be good at whatever I do and have failed big time on here.

My scores all start with a 7 or 8 sometimes even a 9.

Mad do i get mad sometimes i feel like chucking my computor out the window.

but when i read on here that people beleive players with high level and being low tiers are sandbagging makes my blood boil.

I can think of nothing more than teeing of from the legends tees knowing that i have worked hard to tee off from there.

anyone out there want to play around or two with me to try and help me improve this game feel free to contact me.

I am one of the people just now promoted to master as in previous discussion. I never shot better than 32 for 9 and never better than 67 for 18. This only happened a few times and I was a 74 last week and with a few match plays became master. I am not sure how the calculation are made to lower ones average that much in match play. What I want to know now is if the match play are being taken into consideration then why cant I get credit for longest putt, driving average, greens in regulation and so on...

The answer is, nobody has ever taken credits for any achievement.

I must add my name to the list .

As a master long since. I am trying to get to Tour Master. However, the harder I try the harder its seems to be.

I was at level 89 just about to turn level 90 and buy the top driver to help me a little more. What do WGT do they move the top driver from Level 90 to level 94, the day before I turned level 90. I thought it was me, i had read it wrong, then it was confirmed that WGT had changed it. THX FOR THAT WGT.

they keep changing the courses, pin positions etc. then i am told they now have a formula to make the game harder for the player when they are playing too well. It apparently analises your game and changes it to stop the player getting too good.

Well, maybe WGT should start paying back some of the members that lose balls etc due to game criteria changing. jerky meters etc.

Now I see they have introduced an English avatar. What a joke. A white blouse, blue skirt with a small george cross on the shirt. Someone up the in WGT towers is having a laugh. 800 credits for that. Look at the irish avatar, the oz avatar, the US avatar. do i need to go on???

Come on WGT get your act together.
