You can have the biggest  most powerful computer ever built but if it gets crap info input- it will give crap output results

try another browser that gives you a steady meter....Maxthon3 works well with this game.

    LeGeNdCrUsHeR:

FWIW, I use a Walmart bought HP computer.  It's better than my 4200$ water cooled AlienWare with a 36inch monitor...

Same here, i have top spec PC i use for music production which is i5 and graphics card etc etc, and a PC my kids use which has 1 GIG, yes 1 GIG of RAM, dual core, no graphics card and is extremely dusty as its so old but plays this game just the same as my good PC, nice smooth meter most of the time.  My kids PC doesn't even meet the minimum requirements but i prefer playing it than my own higher spec pc and never have any problems.

If i get a pause or a skip i put it down to internet, but what i do use is a very old version of flash plug in and it seems much better than the "newer" versions

Agree, power isnt the answer. Disabling background services, software updates and AV scans will help a lot. I had lots of stuff trying to access the internet periodically to check for updates. I have disabled all of those now. I have even disabled my virus scanner when on WGT. I do have a few hiccups still, but nowhere near as many as I used to and generally the meter is far smoother and more reliably smoother.

I use palemoon as my choice of browser for WGT and have tried all the others, but prefer this for gaming here.  Hope it helps a bit

    WGTpizza,

For what it is worth, I have a sincere apology to make to WGT. I am wrong and admit it but it turned out to be worth posting because it resolved my problem. I read on one of the replies to turn practically everything off, I found Norton was running a scan in the background. I again apologize to you and the WGT Community.

    Sincerely

    Edbeau

I am pleased you resolved the issue. Noton is a beast that will slow down everything, so bad I will not use it. And full credit to you for admitting it!

One other tip is to disable some of the game addons if you have them on - seems to be the more add ons the less stable the meter is.

Mow enjoy the game and score well.
