Well sorry to say lots of people just use the free balls instead of complaining.  I use them lots, yeah the meter is much faster but you do mostly get used to it and once in awhile I splurge and buy some good balls for a whole dollar or buy some cheaper ones for 50 cents.

Apparently there will be a few more ways to earn credits coming soon, not sure how much that is really needed (a couple might be nice) BUT a new tier would really help things for the majority of Master players who never make the leader boards.

    ----------

The bottom line though is paying for balls is the most FAIR way to operate this site.  The not as good alternative would be a monthly fee which people would have to pay no matter how much they play.   Here, you can even play for FREE by using the free balls OR just pay as you go as much as you play and no more, you only play twice in one month maybe you only bought one set of balls versus a crappy monthly fee.  If you play more, then you will spend more, seems VERY fair to me (though I do mostly agree with the original post that they could last just a bit longer).

Setting up this site, having employees, taking more than 100,000 HD pictures to setup a course, etc, etc, etc all costs MONEY, lets have a reality check here shall we.

    Hi Edward,

Each ball type that you see in the pro shop has a "Durability" rating displayed in the bottom row of stats.  An example of the graphic in the Pro Shop is below:

Durability represents the amount of times the ball can be struck before it's taken out of play.  The higher the durability rating (more filled in bubbles on the chart) the longer each individual ball will last.  This is explained in our FAQ, but for ease I've pulled out the relevant info for you.

In the game each ball's durability is represented with the HITS graphic to the right of the ball.

As the ball becomes worn and nears the end of it's life-cycle (25%) the meter turns red to let you know it will soon be taken out of play.

If you hit a ball in the water then it's gone completely, no matter how many hits you had left on it.  Shots struck with the putter do not decrease a ball's durability rating.

Please be sure to note durability for any future purchases.  Just so you are aware you are supplied with an infinite amount of WGT Starter Balls should you choose to go that route instead.

    Hope that helps.

edro, paper master pounds away on st. andy's not one score from anywhere else. how very shocking you are frustrated with the game, all i15 woods with crapture irons, starter wedges and balls. what's the prob edro you spent your money on the wrong gear to climb the ladder here. you got about 5 dif swing speed meters in the bag. i suspect you will stick around with all that cash you plunked down for all that fancy gear. you might want to play some of the other courses here to fine tune your game, shooting low scores at sta is not going to help you much here. yelling in the forums will only bring ridicule to yourself. yes i guess i had to let off some steam, i do try and play other course's but can hardly ever find anyone who does play the other course's,and when i do find someone they quiet after the first 2 holes, and im still learning the clubs and meter speeds, and ive just about purchased every ball to find the one that fits my needs for play, i do appericate the chart of how balls are replaced, as far as clubs i have 3 sets in my inventoy, i like the rapture iron set because the meter speed but play my ir5 pings on the longer course's such as bethpage, i like competion would love to be in the position to enter more tournments, in order for me to do so i have to spend cash to find what fits my needs to get good scores, and balls and clubs are the answer, so yes i complain lol, im disabled and on a fix income, this game has taken over my real life golf since im unable to play anymore, ill try and keep my thoughts to myself from now on lol, good luck everyone with your game,

So no one answered the question of how long a ball actually is supposed to last.

Do I have to painstakingly count every shot i take with my fav balls hoping beyond hope that it doesn't go missing, astray, wet or otherwise till u take it out of play.

Shots per full bubble even approx would be a terrific answer!

And thank-you for not counting puts against the ball, if that was the case I'd be replacing them every nine holes.

Happy to be part of the WGT experience

    Sincerely

The bottom line to all that want to complain about WGT charges for stuff, consider this.

WGT is a company. To create this game, programmers, maintaining the website, the servers, outside sales people, this list goes on and on, simply takes money.

Because WGT is a venture capitalist business. They must eventually show a profit to their investors or they will have to close there doors. Now that being said, their still trying to give you a free game to play. You have a choice about how much you want to spend. You can chose to support it, not support it, or whine to high heaven and make a jackass out of yourself in this forum.

I know the world is harsh cold and cruel. You have a choice not for WGT, but for your life and the people your responsible to care for. If you don,t have enough money for the things you want and need, its up to you to find away to make more money, period! If you want like so many people do, to stand there with your hand out, then complain your not getting anything. Well to bad Sparky. IM sure as hell am not going to hand you what I have worked hard for. That being said I will and always will reach down and help people that are figting to do the right thing, working hard and falling short. I respect that.

And that's the difference between conservatives and liberals. Well, at least your kind of liberal. This wasn't aimed at any individual here, just the group as a hole.
