Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply... constructively or otherwise.

    Sleep Mode

But every once in a while something will bump my mouse or something and POOF the screen lights up when I'm dead asleep and startles me half to death.. Could be a good Halloween movie .......LMAO

Or it could just be the regular cleaning process when the CPU fan kicks in.

ON! I have virus scans and updates scheduled for 2AM.

With the power management you can turn most everything off so power use in minimal and the PC will "wake up" and run the scheduled tasks then go back to "sleep"

I usually leave mine on.  I tend to try and play a quick 9 holes or just want to look through the forums in the morning before I go to work.   Too much time wasted waiting for everything to reboot. lol

If I run a scan and repair, I will have the computer shutdown afterwards, but then I will turn it back on before I go to bed,  for reasons stated above.

    goldeena:
I often reboot before I play a game after clearing caches, running scans and all that business, just seems the fresh way to go.

Definitely a good way to go if you have low memory.

I put it to sleep when not in use.......My cat turns it on whenever he feels like it.  Usually between 2-3 am.

Mine sleeps, which will not effect anti virus updates, so I'm told!
