    cycle1979:

Are you playing Alt Shot for credits?

I don't understand the question. What do credits have to do with it? But if you would like an answer to your question, then, it is a huge YES, I would help out my partner if he asked or wanted some.

Again I state there is no rule in the rules of golf that says you cannot help a partner with any shot whether it is a friendly or one with a prize or purse.

You are going to tell me, that if you were in a tournament (friendly or monetary) with a partner, you would not offer him any advice what so, ever if he asked.

Yes even in single play for credits I would give advice to my opponent if they asked. It is only common curtsey.

I agree - the Alt shot game is team based and teams will help each other, allbeit in a visible way. Anyway I don't think the credits we are playing for are huge anyway.  It's very much about playing the game and very little about gambling.

I could easily see ways players would cheat using this multiplayer mode similar to coercion in online poker

cycle1979,   Not sure what you mean with this? Can you explain thanks.

    Cheers, Pete

it still comes down to picking the right club making adjustments for wind etc and hitting the dinger.

    Cycle1979,

I'm not sure whether you can play for credits in Alt Shot game - but I think the essence of the comments were about helping your team mate with suggestions on how to play a shot or a hole, which could be considered some sort of unfair help in games where credits are being played for.

Me personally, I think this is a bit over the top.  In the end the player making the shot has to hit it perfect to make the shot, and no matter how much advice you get from outside sources.

Also when you consider this in true team golf (real golf games like matchplay etc) , pairings DO provide advice and assistance to each other, which is very acceptable in that form of golf.  So why should it be any different here?  We aren't playing for hundreds of dollars in each event.

    Cheers, Pete
