  They already are.  You can play a qualifier on the St. Andrews course, and it is brutal.

  Hole #2, super fast until your close then slow is the word. Had a level 4' putt hit a little over 3 and it came up short. Pulliing our chains is what it is. I had 1 ball roll back towards the hole to make a left turn and go another 7'. Don't need a putter, just blow on the ball.

  I'll second that duffer, I'm going to try to prove that you can [with a downslope] putt the ball backwards and hit it in on #9 at Oakmont.
