Recently built a new computer and I put Windows 8 OS on it. Meter is the smoothest thing I have ever seen on WGT but when I click ding, it lag's for like a 1/4 second and i'm missing ding like 10 pixels right.  It's so bad I cant even play. Has anyone played w/ W8 yet?

Browsers I have tried: Maxthon, Comodo, FF, Chrome, IE

I have tried rolling back to older versions of Flash but the wont install correctly because Windows 8 is so new I assume. Only the past 2 months or so versions work, and the Meter is the same on all of them. Smooth right up to when I try to click ding.

It is not the components in the computer, everything in the machine is way way above whats needed.

Edit: Using a hard wired gaming mouse also. :)

At this point, any suggestions are welcome.

Have you got a wireless mouse ? Even good ones can cause lag.

I had the same issue when I first set up Win7 a few months ago.  The USB polling rate is set very low so it causes the ding click to be erratic at best.  I had to buy a mouse with software that allows you to change the polling rate - been great ever since.

I dont think this is the issue, but will surely give it a try. Ive been playing COD and havnt had any issues w/ mouse lag in that. It seems to be only Flash related.

Will try this though. Thanks for help.

I never tried windows 8. But I have similar problem with windows 7. To avoid any lag, I have to use some basic theme without all those aero stuff.

It looks silly as a solution but it really make a difference. If I play with the default theme (with aero, transparent windows etc), I cannot ding at all (even if the meter is smooth). The meter always stops a tad later after I click and I miss late. But if I change the theme (I use windows classic, similar to XP), it works as expected.

I don't know if you can change the theme with windows 8, but if you can, give it a try and let us know.

    Regards

PS: I read about this solution on this forum, but I don't remember where so I cannot give proper credits...

I made this same change, and my meter performed way better than what it used to. That small change frees up plenty of memory and storage space for your PC.

I don't have vista, but I guess you access the configuration panel by right clicking on the desktop (on your wallpaper), then you get a popup menu and from there try which entry seems the most relevant. It should be there in that popup menu.

If someone still have vista, you could get a more specific help if you cannot figure it out with what I wrote above.

Razer Death Adder has adjustable polling rate and works very well and I disable Themes and aero using advanced settings of Gboost.
