Thanks G and Bug. I did some research last night about the Aero theme as I know about the issues on Win7. They did away completely with "Aero" in Win8 as that was one of the main complaints people had. I will still look for some tweaks in the themes to "dumb it down" a bit. I have 16gb of Ram so I would think it could handle the themes, but anything is possible.

Will try all of the above tonight after work. :)

    Thanks

    BM

I have a brand new computer (less than 2 months old) with 8gb of Ram, and it cannot handle it...

    Regards

It looks silly as a solution but it really make a difference. If I play with the default theme (with aero, transparent windows etc), I cannot ding at all (even if the meter is smooth). The meter always stops a tad later after I click and I miss late. But if I change the theme (I use windows classic, similar to XP), it works as expected.

Exactly Gen gen,On some machines Windows 7 Aero especially on the transparency theme will have a delay on click, you need to trim the Aero look as much as possible even go to control panel and Adjust for best performance,

I figured all of this out also and made those changes - and it helped me to get a smooth meter.  I didn't get rid of the click "lag" though until getting the new mouse with adjustable polling rate.

ps - I am also working with 16gb RAM.

I really dislike the fact that this game is so dependent on technical specifications. I wish WGT had more stable connections with their servers.

What about the fact that, if you have a WGT account, you can access it on nearly any machine, anywhere with no need for occupying HD space due to it being a flash-based, browser game?

That is the trade off. That is the model our business follows.

And what about giving an answer to those two threads?

You have to exit out of your anti-virus during game-play or any downloaded Windows utilities. You can turn your anti-virus back on from the desktop icon.

I had the very same issue when I installed 'Fix-it' utilities. I shut it down (clicked exit) and all worked great again. The utility functions still work, it just doesn't perform any background scanning.

Right, you might be able to access it but can you play it without stutter and lag?  You can't always do diligent maintenance and tweaking on a different PC.
