TarheelsRule:
Also what TLD said looks correct to me as well, I don't understand the programming, etc. but the hole looks about 10% smaller than it should be compared to the pin, clubs, players, balls, etc. This maybe factored in so that you can't putt as well on WGT as on TWO which allows you to make every putt you attempt from inside 75 feet.
I don't think so, Heels.
I think it's just an issue that they didn't predict early on. For a game that correctly simulates so many realistic aspects of the real game, it's highly unlikely that they would do something like that.
However, when you look at the hole when compared to the ball, it's quite a noticeable bit smaller than it should be. Have a look at this picture:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a modern golf hole is 4.25 inches across and a modern golf ball is [by requirement] 1.68 inches in diameter. This means that you would have enough room to fit two golf balls side by side into the hole along with some extra room, which is often seen when you have two balls and a pin in the hole.^^
However, with the size of the holes in WGT, this would never be possible. An early modeling error? Most likely.
