Don't be such a meanie..invest in some decent clubs, all courses are doable to get loads of birdies..even the open...I was able do score a  round of 70 in open conditions when i was an amateur with new clubs.

I have already played my qualifying round at Oakmont but we are having a starter club and ball only tourney so I have been playing it with those clubs in the last few days.  I haven't posted my scores, finishing all of the last putt before I stop.  I have been able to shoot in the mid 80's using those clubs, I believe I can get to 75 / 78 range so it is possible to play these courses.  Sort of fun to try to play them, makes you appreciate those shiny new balls and clubs we use.

I would agree. This course is a joke to the industry. Someone should evaluate the programming and fix the putting part of the game. Also, there are too many holes where the ball goes immediately right for some crazy reason. Please fix this on the course mentioned.

For me the biggest PITA is that having lashed out and bought more expensive balls with slower swing meter specificakky fr use in qualifying, halfway through the round I am finding that the meter speeds up. Not happy with this at all. Either it is an anomoly, or has been deliberately done.

I love the way they have made qualifying more difficult....so it should be, this IS for the Open.  Practise gives us knowledge as to how and where to play our shots.

While i respect a lot of your opinions ... personally I think it's great .. move the tees back on all the courses.   Slick up the greens to the speed of a glass top table.   Put in a wind mill and a clowns face for me to hit ... make it the game hard to break par.   That's what makes it fun.   Making birdie or shooting under 70 is a thrill once again... Keep up the good work.

Check out the thread with the putting example from Oakmont ... the greens are spot on.

I agree with Lou and Amanda. As a matter of fact, now that I'm getting used to these greens, my putting on BPB and KW has worsened somewhat. I consistently overcompensate for the break...I'd hate to play a RG with slow greens...

im not the greatest putter in the world but i have completed a round and the course is brutal , but enjoyable at the same time , and in real life the pro,s tend to attack the course and this course is no exception ,but what i did find was go down a club or 2 from what the caddy recommends ,but holes that have a elevated green use the the first club . iv completed one round and will attempt to bring the score down practice makes perfect . .also under hit your puts and allow for maximum break ,last of all enjoy its a game :)
