I just played the full 18 on Oakmont for the first time and shot 83...but I had 40 putts. Pretty ridiculous. A lot of the putts broke at least 20 or 30 yards sideways. It's crazy! But whatever, I'll keep going and hope I get lucky lol.

That's because you are putting sideways. It seems obvious but it's not... Take notes, understand the greens, work out a formula for the speed, you'll soon putt like BPB or KW

The greens are a joke. Thats anything but realistic. Thanks WGT for trying but I'll stick to a more realistic course and leave the putt-putt golf to the teeny boppers.

I would love to see the putt that broke between 60 and 90ft as described above.

Oops, I meant 20 to 30 feet, my mistake. Rainman: would you care to elaborate? If I try to line up my putt so that it doesn't break sideways as much, it just runs way past the hole.

OK lets get serious when was the last time anyone for real shot a 57 at the british open?      I see in our qualifier there were more than 1 and a big load of 60's. I assume there are a few guys that will justify how this happens. Personally i love this game but really there are quite a few bugs which is to be expected.and i am very very certain the meter issue can be resolved  i wonder why it hasn't been done. Furthermore there are way more people who can't shoot really good scores so how do we compete with 50's?

Formula =  Subtract 3 ft for every 10 ft. Then, add the rise or fall component to the putt.(exp) .. 30 ft putt  /  4 in. up hill = (30 - 3 x 3) + 4 = 25 ft. Hit the putt 25 ft with the right pitch in place. If the putt doesn't drop you will get close enough for a 2 putt green and at Oakmont, that is very good. lol

    (exp) DOWNHILL - 16 ft putt  / 7 in. downhill = (16 - (3 + 2)) - 7 = 4 ft. Hit the putt @ 4 ft.

Get the feel for it and, it works very well. Hope this helps. I know it can be extremely frustating..lol edge...

chazzzzz, its realistic golf "game" not real golf.  Real golfers cant point and click a ding to hit a perfect shot.  They dont see a grid on the green.  So this game while being 5 shots better then the best at St Andrews in real life is pretty close.  Its not -30 like you see on other games though.  And sorry you cant compete with the elite on this site, there are very few who really can.  But if you practice and can get yourself to qualify you never know what will happen.

wow now a guy with an ave. of 62 is crying!! upon closer review said "paper" master has only played ranked rds. on st. andys and kia. island with not one 18 hole score, spare me your tears. if you do not put in the work you will NOT qualify for the opens. geez are you kidding me with this garbage. the way your going about this, is in a word "stupid". how can you expect to play well if you don't play bethpage at all? oh that's it you want it to be easy. one of the worst posts of all time. now wipe your tears and hit the course.
