Having had them about a few days now the main difference for me is on the par 3s. Before I was often struggling to get inside 15 feet and now I'm inside 5 more often than not.

Just shot my first 26 with av dist to pin of 4 foot (ok, it was Cabo though!).

My R11 yardages are a bit different than lonnies the 8 iron is much shorter in my book with full bs. Here are mine. I average about 11 ft with these

It's not the 1st time I have noticed this and I find it quite strange but I guess this proves the theory that a higher spin ball with full bs loses much more yardage than a "lesser spin" ball with full bs..

My full bs yardage (Excl rollout) for the R11 and callie z (Slow meter) combo are as follows:

    3i  224

    4i 208

    5i 191

    6i 177

    7i 163

    8i 148

    9i 135

    PW 117

What would be interesting is to find out the "landing" yardage for the RB's with Nike and/or callie z

Having tried both sets, I think it's fair to say the R11's are better, but not by much. I really enjoy the fact the blades have a slower meter, and in low winds they work great. The problem starts when you have a mod - strong tail wind, your playing uphill and your inbetween clubs.

Also, I don't know if this happened to any1 else, but I was getting meter glitches on every round I played with the blades ( well 4 of the last 5 day's of play), so I wanted to try R11's again to see if it improved meter performance, and it did! maybe just 3 or 4 glitches in the  past few days.

I rented the Clubs today and noticed the meter glitches... just a few, but enough to be a worry.

If you like a fast meter the R11's are the best set.  I got them when they first came out. The speed has got fast with them now ... too fast for me to handle anymore...lol (getting old)

The speed on the Bladz is great. There is only 5 yrds difference in Irons (R11's vs Baldz), but if usin Bladz you lose the 225yrd  3Iron and the 120yrd Pw.

Wouldn't you say this depends on the ball you are using. For example with the Nike XL you are about 5 -6 feet longer than the numbers shown...

Which is why I play all feel. Each ball plays different and I like to club up and not hit it 100% to negate missing the ding.....More club less power is better for me.

I have both and prefer the bladez beause of the slower meter speed plus I believe they are more forgiving

I seriously doubt that I'll be trading my bladez for r11's.  The primary reason I switched from burners (since L79) to bladez was to slow the meter down to match my cg wedges, 3w, and the r11 driver I'll get at L88.

This solves a huge problem for me.  Dealing with 3 diff meter speeds from the tips, where it''s more difficult to hit a fwy and long irons play a much larger role, has been a challenge.

Don't expect that my reflexes or hand/eye coordination will improve anytime soon, so it won't benefit me at all to increase the meter speed of my irons at L90 or beyond.

Are r11's the best irons?  Absolutely, IMHO.  But what good are they if you can't use them effectively?

    My .02
