While I'm surprised we didn't get more responses to this post I want to thank those that did participate. I hope those that read and played along gained a little insight into some history and had a little fun, too.

Congrats to SteffiThomas. She nailed the answers to a T, including the highly subjective Question #4.

I wasn't old enough to enjoy The King in his heyday but I did enjoy watching him play whenever I could. I guess you could call me an unofficial member of Arnie's Army. I can still see him hit a drive and watch after it like a hawk, his head tilting from side to side. His swing was that of Everyman...  Nothing sweet or pure about it.  While his 7 major wins weren't the most by any standard, I felt that his 1960 US Open wn at Cherry Hills was his finest; arguably the greatest of all time.  He was 7 shots back starting play Sunday, and beat both Ben Hogan (my fav #2) and the young Jack Nicklaus.  I was too young to watch it, but can see it in my mind.

Congrats, again, Steffi.  You'll find the putter and balls in your bag the next time you log in.  And Sam and Clark will find a sleeve each of the same balls just for playing along.  Too bad we didn't have more involved in the game.

Thanks to you all. Hope to see you all on the links sometime soon.

    Great Stuff, Loose,

I have the pleasure of saying...I WAS (still am) one of Arnie's Army...having grown up in California with a dad who lived for golf, I have very fond memories of attending many of The King's games and watching him drive, then racing to the greens to watch him putt. I also remember watching The Golden Bear teeing off and hearing the comments and amazement of how long he would go. Great memories and I thank my dad for hooking me (no pun intended) on this game. It not only teaches you a sport, but also condones a decent way of life, both on the course and off.

Many thanks for bringing back some of the happiest memories of my life.

Thank you very much lugnutz for the gifts, and indeed I also appreciated the opportunity to explore into some history (that was before my time as well).

The putter I will keep in good condition I promise, but the balls may very well find the first lake/river I find (sorry).
Seriously, this is a great boost for me figuring out the putting feature (with a decent tool now), as well as I can now continue to save my credits for some other items.

Again, I appreciate this idea (as well as the others who are in the giving spirit for us relative newbies) and you all have a happy holidays as well!!! :-)
