Having played in Cerino and Corwyns UL tourney recently on 4 Open courses with Starter clubs and balls, it is the way forward.
For this reason, if you have ever played RSG and STA for real you will understand. Some bunkers there are so steep it is impossible to play forwards, and one has to accept that it is a lost shot if you go in one.
I have played RSG in heavy winds where you aim into the sea for some holes, or even on #14 with a R>L wind you would be aiming at Princes Golf Club clubhouse. It can be wild and far from picking your spot on the fairway, you are just grateful to be anywhere on it.
The distance loss is not unreasonable either, many a time at STA #14 it is impossible to reach in 3 shots if the wind is against, you just plot your way to the green and try for a 1 putt.
All Ul does is add another layer of calculation to your shot making.
Make the normal adjustments you would in even lie play then add the adjustments for your stance and up /down slope.
Finally if my real golf game was as predictable as even lies play , then I would give up the game tomorrow. In virtual golf here the only thing I don't know for example when I play STA front is will I get an eagle, I always birdie 1,3 5, 7,8 & 9, so an eagle means a 29, otherwise 30.
How boring is that.
