Could someone give me an idea on calculating the sidewind on your approach shots.  Any help will be appreciated.

I'd have thought after 1,000 rounds you'd have a rough idea.

Hey Ron, somewhere in a recent thread, SgtBilko and Oldbayrunner have a wind calculator that has some helpful information on wind.  I would recommend that as a starter.  It's hard to give advice as most people handle wind differently.  Some move the marker, some miss the ding, some do some of both. it is hard to tell you what to do.  I move the marker and try to hit the ding (notice I said try ) ;) and it's all by feel and experience and isn't necessarily right.  I think that is what the previous poster meant by the comment.

Find that thread form those guys and talk to them, they have it worked out.

Since the search function is out of commission, if you can remember a poster or the author of a particular thread, go to their profile, expand their activity list and look for the posts they've made.  ;-)

I'm probably not going to be much help since I don't ever "calculate" anything , but I have always used the blue box above the aim arrow. The width of the box is approx the drift of a 10mph crosswind and adjust from there. Higher trajctory clubs will drift more than med- or low trajectory clubs. And you have to figure that longer irons will move more than short irons just because they are in the air longer

.Basically, it's a guessing game - all the math in the world can't predict deviations.

Very cool! Even Yankee haters have to appreciate that.

Side note-I actually played 3 times on Doubleday Field and can't tell you what a feeling it is to squat behind the plate in the same dirt baseball greats did. Amazing place. :-)

    This wasn't even necessary.
