Hi Since a lot of people playing this game have the Metric system in their countries it would be nice to have an option if you want to use the Meters or the Yards when you play

i agree - the weather network here gives us both options !! i grew up using the imperial system but that is also different than used in the USA but that's ok. i have adjusted to the system. metric is more universal but it will take time. expect more controversial responses. it takes time to change minds!

I tend to agree as the metric system is a more universal standard. Having said that look at aviation where the imperial system was adopted and has remained.

But when I play golf I always use metric and when I have played courses in the States I have struggled converting lol.

Would be nice to have the option on here, but it is a US company so I am not complaining playing under their conditions.

    Hello Cinski,

Great suggestion! I have relayed it to the WGT executives. Keep the suggestions coming, we are always looking to improve :)

In real life I was educated under the UK imperial system and then went on to work originally in both imperial and metric, then purely in metric and finally back to both (we purchased some US aircraft). So I'm used to both, that said however, it really doesn't matter for virtual golf whether thay call them metres, yards, miles, furlongs, breasts or anything else, in virtual life it is just a word.

    I agree - I don't care if my drive is 280 yds on a 500 yds hole or 280 m on a 500 m hole :)

Alas, for continental Europeans and others only used to the metric system it becomes tricky when the usual units are abandoned, i.e. putt elevations in feet (= 12 inches).

OTOH, I'm so used in adjusting putt elevation in inches that it would be hard to have cms instead.

Alosso, you are 100% correct. The virtual world of WGT, it makes no difference what unit of measure is used. It does become a issue in the real world when you think you use a 7 iron for 150 metres and you now try to convert to yards. Otherwise, no issue what so ever

IBTD: It makes a difference in certain situations.

I grew up with the metric system for distances, and imperial for weights. Although with weights I kind of understand both, never used distances in miles/yards/feet, etc. Nevertheless, I adjusted to the system easily and don't mind if it is in one or the other. I bet WGT will implement it soon, maybe way before they sort out other important issues....:-)

I'm a joiner (carpenter) and when I was an apprentice I was taught in imperial.....feet and inches......whilst on sites, but taught in metric.......metres and millimetres......when at college. So luckily I can convert to both.

In the UK we are supposed to now use metric under EU laws, but the road signs are still all in miles and yards.....yet the shops sell in metres, litres and kilograms. No wonder everyone over here is confused!

On the golf course, though, everything is still imperial, so I work out my 7 iron, say, to about 150-160yd.
