    oneeyedjohn:

I do believe there is only a Union Jack flag, no english, welsh or scottish flags in wgt, therefore the flag represents Great Britain.

The tournament is incorrectly titled, just like when The Open was on, they ( wgt ) called it the British Open - wrong, it is "The Open Championship" and the winner is referred to as The champion golfer for that year.

Well I call all the lovely people over there as 'English'    weather they be Irish, Scottish, Welsh. or anywhere else I can't think of at the moment....lol

I would strongly suggest that you, if you want to use just one word, call them 'British' instead. But that is very OT.

Funny, just realised that Great Britain is, still, so great that it is politically correct to use derogatory terms when talking about it's people. Still.

    so great

    So anal you mean :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_names_for_the_British#Pommy

The term pommypom or pommie,[1] in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, usually denotes a person of English heritage or origin. Less commonly, it can refer to anyone from Britain or the United Kingdom. A derogatory term, it was controversially ruled no longer offensive in 2006 by the Australian Advertising Standards Board and in 2010 by the New Zealand Broadcasting Standards Authority.[2] Despite these changing views, many British people or those of British origin consider the expression offensive or racist when used by people not of British origin to describe English or British people, yet acceptable when used within that community.

So In Australia we dont think it is derogatory. So  no offense intended but it is only by pommies that offense is taken

    Go figure

strange cos I found the true meaning of the word pommie

A derogatory word used to refer to a Brit, derived from the acronym POME (Prisoner of Mother England).

basically prisoners that where sent to aussie to be incarcerated there lol

So when the Aussies talk about "pommies", they actually refer to themselves. No wonder they do not find it derogatory.

    *knocks loudly on the table*

Would you mind to come back to the subject?

To help some, here's what Pizza stated at 01-11-2013 5:13 PM in another thread when addressed concerning the Elite update (one of his most remarkable posts IMHO):

    WGTpizza:

    unclenewy:
You have to understand that you're the only focal point the community has to vent it's anger about the removal of the ONLY viable (almost) and worthwhile prizes most players had to aim for, and the idiotic pricing of worthless avatars and bags, and until someone who's actually part of that craziness comes forward and answers some questions, you will continue to be.

Believe me when I say I am VERY aware of this... I don't like the lack of information as much as the community does.

    unclenewy:
Although you can't (and won't) admit it, I think you may agree with everyone's views.

Out of all the posts calling me names, insulting my intelligence, etc. - no one has asked for my opinion until now. Only baited, obviously unanswerable questions like "Would you buy an avatar for 500,000 credits?"

My opinion is that the "Elite collection" should be comprised of items that are exorbitantly priced, but equally rare and/or unique. I am a supporter of the "chat with misterwgt" item, and it's price.

However, something like "custom avatars" (a feature the community has requested for many years) should not go in to the "Elite collection". It should be made available for the average spender.

I am confident that there is a reasoning behind this decision, however I do not know the reason. If I had more (or as soon as I get more) information, I'd be sure to post it on the forums.

Until then, this is just another release for WGT. Let's all have some fun while the company sorts out the endless feedback I have been giving them :)

(Sorry for the thread hijack, feel free to carry on with the original topic)

    Stay classy,

    -WGTpizza

Very few early settlers here were Convicts, the over flow of a British regime jailing those for stealing bread .

Many more of our  settlers migrated here for the gold rush.

    Tightrope:

We dont find nicknames derogatory at all. But calling us British is to justify that is pretty lame.

    :)

So you Geisers and Shielahs are ok being called maybe a  'Limey' then?

I agree, very remarkable., excellent insight.

I wish he had offered that here.

Perhaps pizza could influence a decision to bring these Avatars to a reachable cost.

    Hmmmmm nah.
