I believe wgtpizza's role at wgt is not to facillitate discussion or to relay information. I believe his role is part and parcel of wgt's overhaul to "liven up" the community by instigating and fomenting discord.
I believe the marketing team has followed the model set by reality TV, in which they manufacture "drama" because it is entertainment. wgtpizza's role is basically to be Jerry Springer. He gives lip service to "being classy", but then stokes the fire with well-placed smarm, passive aggression, other troll-like behavior.
wgt has done an about face with regard to it's community relations. wgtpizza is the face (metaphorically speaking) of this change.
Earlier in this thread, someone posted the steadily declining web statistics of wgt.com. I believe it is the loss of web traffic and revenue that has brought about the antagonistic change in the wgt business model.
Also earlier in this thread, I said I was done playing this game. It's true, I haven't played since the update and I won't.
Personal to wgtpizza and executives at wgt:
I, for one, think you have been sold a bill of goods by your marketing team. They are incompetent if they think "drama" will keep people coming back. It's doing the opposite; it's driving them away.
...and yes, wgtpizza, I'm confident you are part of the marketing team.
If I am wrong about all of this; if wgt isn't trying to create discord, and if wgtpizza is really just a company liaison, then that's even worse because that means the whole lot of you is simply incompetent.
