One last thing:  None of this surprises me, and I have no idea why others are shocked or surprised.  WGT has ALWAYS been utterly tone deaf to their customers.  They DO NOT CARE if what they do makes us happy or upsets us in any way, as long as they are still cashing checks.  They have never shown us anything else, why would we think they would start now?

    JaLaBar:
for stuff that no one wants or asked for.

In WGT's defense... people have been asking for customizable avatars for a long time. In every player's defense... these items should not have a price tag whatsoever, let alone the comical slap-in-the-face price tag they have chosen. This all comes down to 2 simple things:

    1. By eliminating the gift cards, WGT has been able to add a huge number of players to entry-fee tourneys, from which they take a ridiculous rake for doing absolutely nothing.

    2. WGT does not care how the players feel or what the players think so long as the upset players keep playing entry-fee tourneys.

If anyone feels strongly about the recent changes, quit playing. The gift cards are not coming back. The newly acquired rake is more valuable to the business that is WGT than the value of a handful of players who have not made a deposit to this site in months or years. It is what it is. Accept it for that or find a viable alternative.

Note - I am in no way defending the actions of WGT (as they are utterly despicable). I am simply calling it like I see it.

    Cheers

Are you really surprised "J"?   "Throw my dog a stick" and he will retrieve it"   "Throw my dog a bone and he will bury it"

?     which one do you prefer?     Doesn't matter!     He's still my dog!

This whole tread has received a lot of positive comments, pro's and con's. Whether we agree or not        it's still not our dog!     IMPO

I'm sure they could have kept the gift card "under the counter" not really advertised but we all know they're there If we want them by PMing one of the WGTmods, and asking for one.  Problem solved.  The non gaming states could still game while the states that allow gaming are allowed to "ask" for a gift card, as its not advertised any where on site I hope it could work

    WGTpizza:
we added to our PRIZE SELECTION for you to spend your winnings on.

Question:  If I knock you down and take your wallet, and I reach into it and take out a hundred dollar bill, and replace it with a twenty dollar bill, have I added to your wallet's contents?

    Who are you talking to?

Certainly not me, nor the vast majority of your customers - we'll never achieve such winnings.

Again, who are you talking to?

No need for WGT to be sneaky.  The method already exists. For example, if you haven't reached the necessary level to buy the R11 driver it is locked in the Pro Shop.

Therefore, if you don't live in a State or Country that allows skill-base gaming, lock the gift cards in the Elite collection.  Sounds simple to me!

When exactly did the Pizza Man say the above Mate ? Surely not in response to the Elite Collection changes ? No...... he can't have done !

The problem was that there were actual things of value in the Elite Collection, meaning things that WGT had to pay for to provide.  So, they eliminated those and replaced them with virtual things that cost them ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make and that they can charge the equivalent of $3000.00 for to any idiot fool enough to buy it, thus maximizing their profits and basically telling all their customers to go f*ck themselves.
