Really dissapointed to log in today to find I am a legend. My average is only 62.12.
I thought it was sub 61 av. at least to get to legend. I was planning to hit a few bad rounds if it got below 62.

The reason I am really annoyed, is 2 reasons:

Firstly, I am level 72. It's going to be exactly like when I was a master at level 40, severely, painfully, under-clubbed. Never making par 5 greens in 2.
Secondly, it seems WGT need some money because they have severely nerfed the earning credits feature in recent times. Watching the videos everyday (there used to be up to 20) I could keep myself in decent balls without having to buy credits.
More recently I have been doing ok in Ready-Go tournaments - again funding balls. There is no way in 1 mil years I will make anywhere near as much at this tier. I need to shoot 2-3 shots better (over 9) from a tee in the parking lot!

Ty, but I have actually only won once, but unless someone hits better than -7 on F9 on RSG front 9 I will win another. It's going to be at least 20 levels before I have any chance of winning any credits again :(

Whenever I seem to hit a score that would normally win I always seem to tie. I always seem to get a bogie too.

To put it in context though, 59 on a SA RG at legend would not even win back my stake! It is also the only time I have hit below 60.

I got to TM at 63.4, so just 1.2 lower gets me to legend? still seems a bit odd to me.

To me it seems the system is working as planned.  Here you are openly admitting you would have been happy to sandbag by having a few bad rounds when you closed in on legend status.

Newish member but seems to have a good working knowlegde of the old system!

Oh and congratulations should be in order.

I only recently heard about  the "sandbag" and I know it's frowned upon - but lets be honest a LOT of people do it. Also, I see players with average under 60 still at M or TM tier.

I think I got to Legend because I have had a good couple of days. Hit -5 and lower on several 9s, a -10 and a -13 on SA. Problem is I am rarely that good.

If you look at my profile you will see I have won $77 but most of that is not a profit. I have probably only won around 1000 credits.

I reckon I could have had a decent tilt at the TM open which is on RSG - I have no hope in Legend.

Also with the RG I was finally getting to the stage where I felt like I could make some serious credits - being consistent.

Also it's not fun at this level.  When I hit master, with a headwind I had serious trouble on the tee on some holes. On St A (hole 7 I think) where there is a load of rough right in front of the Tee more than once I landed in it with a Ding. This is going to be happening all over again! Also a slight skew off the tee and you can hit a hazard and lose balls I can no longer afford!

It's like WGT has deliberately targeted and shafted me just when it was looking like I may get away without having to buy/earn anymore credits.

So that's really why I am dissapointed. But thank you for the nice comments and congrats. I wasn't looking for congrats on this thread, I was wanted a really good whine!

    Hello Mate

Although Ready-Go's are not an issue for me, I thought you might like to see my thoughts on also being promoted very recently to the Legend Tier.

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/148810.aspx?PageIndex=2

Excellent point about the Videos, which have virtually disappeared here in the U.K. Like you, I relied on the credits they made to buy balls and the odd bit of equipment, but I'm now finding myself digging deeper and deeper into my little nest egg of credits, which is fast disappearing and there's no sign of being able to re-stock it.

I'm getting worried now that his could be the way it's going to be from now on, which wouldn't be good at all.

Congratulations on making Legend anyway Mate. Hope we can get a game sometime.

    Ade

There are certain "numbers" that don't quite support a testimony.
I am a L92 Legend player, and if I wanted to start a second account, even for someone like me, with an average of 63+, it would take more than "those" two months+ to achieve so greatly.  Maybe I am too slow.  Maybe the OP is very, very, very talented.  Maybe only God will ever know the truth to throw an infallible judgement-sentence upon this very case, but since that doesn't happen we must congratulate WGT for the anti-sandbagging-position-er that now gives that gentile "push" to those really good & talented players, just in case we didn't understand this "promoting attitude" and we all like to be "promoted", right ?

Not referring to the OP with this bottom line : "No more old-men stealing candies from the children ... thank you WGT".

Addressing the OP :  Dear Sir, you should feel proud, happy and sharing with your friends your incredibly fast achievements that to most of us took about more than a year !
