I find the prizes (credit purse) that WGT puts up in its free 9 and 18 hole weekly tourneys, a joke and an insult.
The total prize pool on the weekly free 9 hole tourney is 1500 credits, with the winner getting 270 credits. Seriously??? I have given away to randoms after a quick game more than their entire prize pool! Even if you came first in one of these tourneys you would just have half of what you needed to buy a sleeve of nikes. The whole prize pool together is half a max putter.
Considering how much WGT expects us to pay for their equipment (all be it optional) and how generous the community is, i think its time WGT bumped up these prize pools.
It would be nice if coming in the top 70 actually got you something.
add a zero to that 1500 prize pool, and we could be in business. You will make it back from the grinders buying balls. Would be a lot more enjoyable to have some free weekly tourneys that were not a farce, and where even (eg).34th place got you a little something.
Are those WGt nation or The Uk only tourneys ment to be generous? doubling a pathetic prize pool... its still pathetic. I find it very insulting that even in an enormous open field, you still cant be a little generous. All equipment has gone up in price by 75% but the tourney payouts get worse. Its also not about winning the credits, but just the insult of how little you value your consumer is fuckity annoying.
My main gripe is the relative value of things not changing; once if you won the 9 hole weekly, you could buy a few sleeves of the best balls, but the equipment got more expensive, the payouts remained the same.
If WGT are too tight to increase the meagre prize pool, i will fund the weekly 9 hole tourneys and pay the $15 bucks prize pool, and x10, to make it 150$ or 15,000 credits, if you mention my company sponsors it…
