Lets do it like this:
1) I lost count of how many free "offers" I did and never
got credits. I also paid £ 10 to join WH Vegas. Where are my credits?
Who am I emailng when I request support - they sure as hell aren't
sorting it out... I don't feel I get any sort of service across the
board.
Not one person here that can't feel your frustration about not getting credits for time you spent. Not that this makes it ok or makes you feel better, but I spend most of my time in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has no pull in the ad world so i don't get very many free offer or videos. I get to click 7 videos a day and after 2 weeks can get 75 credits. The only other thing is do tasks for crowd flower which is a joke, spend hours for nothing. From what ive read in forums a lot of people eventually stop doing free offers and just stick to clicking vids. If you have spent money that Im sure someone here can help you get that sorted.
2) I got kicked up to Legend. It's not fun when you can't
even make the fairway from the Tee with a headwind. Sometimes there is
nothing I can do. Same story when I made master. I got penalized because
I didn't take months to get up the tiers. I am not going to play for
another 3months so I can eventually get the clubs I need to compete.
9/10 legends are 90+ and have most of the best gear in the game. This
has made the game less enjoyable and have much less motivation to play.
As Renni said and a lot of others we feel same way. WGT had to change the tiering up system to combat sandbagging and now people tier up really fast. Im in same boat as I tiered up to to Master. I played 6 RGs at pro level and 8 at tour pro and I was a Master, so now im short from the tees and its hard to be competitive, but over time that will change. Time is the great equalizer. I just need to level to 59 and get some new gear and i think i will be competitive again. Until then Ill do alt shot and practice rounds. Im getting pretty good at dropping my 3wd close to the hole from 200+ yads out
3) The servers are bugged. I don't think I have ever got
through a 9 hole game without someone getting disconnected. Sometimes it
happens a dozen times.
I have not experienced this, at least not on every round. If I play a solo round 9 or 18 holes I can usually complete it with no problems. I have been kicked, but my internet is sometimes unreliable so i chalk it up to that. It does happen in multi player more often, but usually another player, so again i chalk it up to their connection. By no means is WGT innocent, im sure they could upgrade and add servers and do things to lessen this and who knows maybe they are, again time will tell
4) The game is flawed. It's Flash. Flash is easy to hack.
Do you think the top players are fair? I don't. People cheat on other
flash games playing for nothing - so do you think they won't when they
are playing for holidays? I saw a youtube video or people using hacks to
ensure they hit the ding every time. It makes me wonder what the point
of playing fair is or playing at all if people can cheat.
People cheat in all games. Platform doesn't matter. Agree flash is prob not the best from a stability stand point but if they had a stand alone program people could hack that or create programs. I agree with you, but your prob still good enough to be competitive. There are cheaters in every aspect of life not just games. They gotta live with it and you just do your thing and enjoy yourself
5) The Ready-gos are boring. They are always the same
ones. Maybe give a higher purse if you can't fill them - they are all
credit sinks anyway.
I enjoy the RGs wish i could do them now, but i know i would just lose money. I know what you are saying tho. They just have the same ones, but again give it time. On some of the level based ones they have a hard enough time filling them as it is. Once more people start to get involved they will fill up faster and Im sure they can add more
6) The prizes for free tournaments are too low. I doubt
you could even cover the cost of the balls you were using even if you
were to win.
Agree that is why I choose RG. other option is do challenges. Don't play tournies just for credits, but more for fun and enjoyment. Entire game is not only about the credits you can earn. I think it needs to be twofold. Have your games you play for the gambling credit earning aspect and another side for the social aspect, the camaraderie
7) I have to pay additional credits to play some courses such as Whistler. I would like to see more courses.
Some course are tru golf, so WGT didn't design or create them, i think they license them so tru golf prob requires that WGT members pay to use the course. I don't know for sure
8) The premium section prizes are extremely poor... not that I am good enough to get that many credits.
They just changed them and in my opinion i think it was a result of the RGs. Before the second to last update, there were a laundry list of states in the USA and countries that couldn't compete in the RGs, making it even more difficult to fill them. They did an update and changed the stuff in the elite section, then all the sudden a bunch of those states and countries could compete. Its based on the local and state laws of skill based gaming. Again this is just my opinion of what hapened and I know alot of people agree. I personally don't care. I just want to earn enough credits to buy my clubs as i move through the levels and ranks, keep a good set of balls on hand, and after that just have extra to be able to gift to others and help others get what they need to progress
9) Earning free credits was nerfed - videos particularly. I don't feel like spending money when I am not enjoying the game.
Can't argue there and you shouldn't spend money if you feel you aren't recieving the service and WGT will have to address that or die. However, you have 10000 credits and a potential 5k more. you have enough credits to almost buy the next 2 sets of clubs and some balls or yourself, plus you are good, I saw your scores, you will start winning credits again, so between some of the videos, what you have, and what you can win, I don't think you will need to spend any Money
10) Aspects of the game play I still find frustrating. No 2
shots are ever the same. Chipping, pitching and flopping is all over
the place. Half the time I get very close, half the time I am nowhere
near. Much as I try I can't even seem to get any consistency with these
types of shot.
That's golf!! When i played that was the case all the time. I agree it gets out of hand sometime and you are carrying the title of a Legend or Tour Pro or whatever, you would think someone of that level would be more consistent, but as someone said in another post there are only about 8 things on this game that have influence over the shot, but in real golf there are 100s. Sometimes their VEM gets a little out of control, but it will get sorted or they will die. I know if you are a pure gamer its more frustrating, because you see that you have this many dots for this aspect and this many for that and this distance and this wind and so every time it should do this , but they are trying to make it more realistic, like real golf and even the best of the best don't hit every shot the same
11) Personal issues. I don't have as much time to play the game as I once did.
Take a break. Do what you need to. Don't let a game rule your life
12) Frustration. Sometimes every putt misses by inches. Meter jumping and lag also makes for frustrating and annoying game-play.
Been there, angry and mad cuz i feel like there is a little demon behind the server and just as my put rolls to the hole he pushes it just left or just right. I want to scream, but then realize there are millions of people on his game I highly doubt there is a little demon, i just need to get better at reading the greens and I feel like I am and you will too. Even tho you are Legend you only have 260 some odd ranked rounds and been here a short time, the more you play the better you get
13)
I got a browser error when I tried to send this message. I often get
browser errors when viewing pages on WGT especially with IE.
I hated hearing this when I read it, but it works. Get a new browser for the game. I understand how you feel. Why can't WGT just make it so it works good on all browsers and why do I have to work so hard to be a customer, but really the game is fun, the people are cool and it takes 5 minutes to download Maxthon or I think some people say Comodo Dragon too. It works I have Maxthon and my meter is smooth 95% of the time. I believe the other 5% is just my internet or I got to much going on on my computer and usually after a few shots it smooths back out
14) I
find it annoying that some gear in the Pro Shop seems to have wrong
stats. My R11 Irons didn't seem to be any more forgiving than my G20
irons despite that fact they supposed are a whole notch better. If I
spend credits I actually want to know what I will get when buying.
Got nothing to say here...lol. I have only bought one set of clubs so far, my K15s. They have been everything I thought they would be and I love them. I can hit the ding but even when i don't i don't miss the fairway. The 4.5 dots of forgiveness make things really nice. They only have 2 dots of precision and you can see that. Sometimes you ding it and your in low wind and the ball ends up 5yds from the hole, but i can't get mad, that is what they are. Maybe someone else can shed some light.
The biggest issues for me are #1, #2 and #4
I appreciate WGT need to make a profit and some reasons I have listed are in conflict to that.
Also they are probably experiencing some immense growing pains. Growing fast changing fast, all these complaints. Again I think the game is worth giving it some time and finding your enjoyment where you can
I think that could be done in more creative ways and if
the level or service was better I would feel like I was getting value. I
paid £9 a month for World of Warcraft and didn't think twice about it
because I got a decent level of service.
I feel guilty spending real money on WGT because I don't
get service and feel my enjoyment of the game has constantly been killed
for no reason other than WGT's agenda.
I haven't given credits away yet, but I am serious. I
don't want to give them all away and end up regretting it. I would be
interested in your take on some of the points I outlined.
As renni said you got skill to be good. I personally don't think you will need to spend money, just need to wait out the level and gear issue. As someone said, play alt shot. That what I am doing, get decent points for it, and so far all my games have been fun. Played with everyone from hack to Legend and no one has been getting upset we all have fun. Haven't found any regular playing partners yet, but still enjoying myself and just trying to get better. You seem level headed and Im sure you will figure out whats right for you.
Hope this helps and if you wanna play shoot me an invite
