    PUHOLINO:

The way the question is phrased, there's no single correct answer, so either rephrase it, or accept any answer from 5$ (minimum) to infiniti (when a $ 10 bill was lost, who says he didn't have 100 k left in his brief case).

OTOH, the answer could as well be ", or a zygote.

The question was phrased to get you out of the box!   Not to trick you nor insult you!

Or to start a pissing match as others have insinuated!

This is a simple math question!  A clue to the answer is in the post!

zygote! I prefer to think of myself as a male gamete! :)

Seabiscuit! was not as small as the movie betrayed him. The match race with War Admiral, who was pictured as much bigger, is false! The "Biscut" was about the same size (15.2 vs 15.3 hands) and outweighed WA by 100lbs!

what was the point of doing all this, the balls might be free but looks like you have too much "free" time too.

Appears we both have to much "free" time! Otherwise why would you comment on this "silly" post to begin with? ")

No harm no foul "C"! :)

ok...so 10 x 18 = 180 balls...not 300.  And if you used decent equipment and balls.....you would have lost far fewer I suspect and actually posted a decent score....which is the idea of the game

Take a deep breath, step out of the box, reread "Topic" and GO! :)

Two days ago, I made a bet, won the bet, doubled my "bet", "gave" $10 bucks to a good friend and went home.

Yesterday, I made the same bet, won the bet, doubled my "money" gave $10 to a homeless person and went home!

Today, I made a bet, won my bet, doubled my money, lost a $10 bill on my way home!

    What did I start with?

Lol, let's try this again then. If your question is, "how much money did I start with?", there can't be a correct answer without knowing, how much money you had left in your pocket after losing the $10 bill on the last day and the question would have to stipulate that you didn't put any additional money in your pocket during those 2 days. If those 2 conditions aren't met, it's impossible to answer it mathematically.

If the answer isn't mathematical, it could only be "you started with making a bet".

I was in no way insulted, I look on this "exchange" as a fun jousting match, nothing more ;-) And although my Seabiscuit comment was obviously meant as a joke, I appreciate the info you gave, I didn't know that before.

P.S.: And if you know anything about cats, you'll know that once they're in a box, good luck trying to get them out ;-)

if your girlfriend ever starts affectionatly calling you Seabiscuit,

I'd hope she was referring to a part of my anatomy.....

But that would kill the mystery, as then I'd  know she was a liar for sure..:))

"A" as in ***       go troll another thread!

OK Sir, will do,.. nice to see a constructive response for once instead of the usual expletives by defensive fools.

When you add this piece of info, it's easy peasy. You started off with $5 (came home with $10 the first day and with $5 the 2nd day and then sadly penniless on the final day). But without this info it was unsolvable ;-)

Sorry "P" typical guess!   ho hum   your "math skills" are much better then that! :)

repeatedly you say lack of info cannot solve the problem! ;(

Would it help if I disclosed my exact location of that lost $10 bill? :)

Been fun, thanx for your humor!
