TarheelsRule: Frankly it is sort of amusing that the terms and conditions speak of gambling when in reality it is just that
Got a chuckle out of that paragraph as well. I must say, that despite the fact Buggyyy's way of advertising this was basically "asking for it", this is a new low for this game and a sad day. All of this could've been prevented. I'm sure most players would not even consider going down that road if gift cards were still available. I'm sure most would be "happy" to take the 6 to 1 conversion rate for the 500$ card and an even slightly worse rate for the 250$ one.
I'm sorry for the fact that top players were basically forced by WGT to resort to these actions. It just a further confirmation of what more and more people are thinking, which is that WGT is actually hoping top players will leave, because they control too many credits and don't spend their real money any more. Shaking my head...
It's just a damn shame.
P.S.: I wonder if they penalized the buyers as well as the sellers. Their "crime" was basically the same, was the punishment as well? Notonthis, if you get the chance, ask Jon who was on the receiving end, if their name still shows up with a "players search" tab, their accounts weren't disabled.
Edit: Just saw the good news, great to hear it's not permanent.
