    WGTicon:

    Hi everyone,

We have made a chance to how meter is working, so I wanted to explain what it does and why.

We have seen a number of errors in the game when players hold the swing meter too long without swinging so in order to fix those issues we implemented a maximum hold-time for the swing meter.   Right now it is set to 15 seconds.  We will evaluate to make sure this fixes the errors we have seen and will adjust accordingly.  Plus, it will also help speed up game play a bit which is always a good thing.

Was referred to this article which prove to be very helpful;however I do take longer than 15 seconds due to the fact i'm trying to get the shot right on the money. Is there anyway to increase this provided I use more of my personal system rss's to compensate for this? I found out if I take my time and go slow as needed I do well; but when I'm rushed to swing I mess up everytime.

The clubs I have are ok and not plan on upgrading until the G20 locks either through me winning the hole in one contests or self purchase. Please make an announcement as soon as possible. Thanks!

It takes you longer than 15 seconds to set the power for your shot?

If so, you might search for "meter tape", "putter/shot pal" and WGT caddy.

Then, assuming you are one who uses a calculation to arrive at power. should get you set up much quicker.

    I'll look into that, thanks!

*Update* Done so and found it it's a third party tool; which I'm not going to bother with. There is the putter and shot pals available, but i've already used those and I was on the same stragety before the shot pal purchase. I realy do need the timer increased and hopefully it will be in the options tab for adjustment soon.

Found this thread yesterday, went and installed Water Fox. It seems to have mostly fixed the meter issues after a brief one day test. I say mostly because further play is needed, but it looks promising. Also, faster load times on other sites that are normally sluggish. If you're having meter issues, try it.

My finger would get stiff if I held it on the mouse for that long, lol. I am only 41 years old. So it boggles me why people need that long too.

"Meter tape"...or a scaled sticky note is used by many...I've a buddy who has it on a 3x5 index card he lays up to his monitor..

Anyways, best of luck...but I think the time out thing is here to stay.

buy minimum putter pal and copy the scale to a sticky ;-) ... or better still use WigerToods , very good if you can use percentages and free :-)

.I've a buddy who has it on a 3x5 index card he lays up to his monitor..

This is exactly what I did shortly after joining WGT.  I thought I was brilliant for doing so, then found others where doing it too.   Seemed obvious to me at the time though.

Not an exact calculation for the power, but gives a known point of reference if you take notes.

Was cool when putter pal came out and I matched it up to my home made index card only to find out that i was just a "rch" off. lol
