It's kind of touched on in the item in the sticky post 'Lobby to chat and find players'

    But to add I guess.

The ability to message friends at any time.

    Having a country channel.

Basically this could be done by making chat always available if you are in the game, then having channels and chat options.  Kind of like IRC, or it may even be easier to have an IRC server, and then have the game connect to it.

    Hi

My opinion is that there are much better ways to communicate than us trying to create a clunky messaging system. Not only it would take along time to perfect it but a huge amount of resources which can be diverted into other things.

Fair enough, it's just something that most online games I have played like this have.

In this case it is a web based game, so using face book chat, or text messages isn't that bad.  But for me I only have a few people I know in game, and in a lot of cases I would prefer not to give out my MSN/Yahoo/FB/Text messages to people I casually meet in the game.

I guess to me, it's something the game will want before I would personally consider it a true MMO.  Yes I know I am new to this community, so maybe it's something that isn't that big of a deal for most people, but I know it would make me a lot more comfortable getting to know people then being forced to give them a contact to me out of the game.

Also I would assume that it wouldn't be clunky, but thank you for your reply to the post.

The chat facility wgt has now is great. Only needs to be available in our CC  lobby too.

or even a way that if you see friends online you can sent them an message like, are you up for a game/ match etc. would be better than a blind lobby search that you get no game match your criterior.

Our CC The Peoples Club uses Raid Call for members to gather in the lobby channel and set up matches. It seems better than just being "Green" or "Blue" and having your game invite declined because it is not in the game format you are looking to play.

You can also chat during the game and does not interfere with WGT or use a lot of  your computer resources.
