Barely met you Peter . The best to you with your treatment . It looks like the radiation has at least fixed your moderation .

Peter...my thoughts are with you and your family as you battle this insidious disease. As I mentioned to Lily, I am not an overly religious person, but I will be saying a prayer that both of you enjoy a full and speedy recovery. Good luck, sir.

    petervcpt:

Thank you for starting this thread Rich.

It gives folks a chance to say stuff about themselves, despite the mean-spirited comments made by others.

An update to my brief history here:

I was diagnosed with stage 1 stomach cancer 13 days ago. I didn't really comprehend what that meant until I had my 1st radiation therapy session. Then sh*t got real for me.

Since then, I have had 5 sessions of radiation therapy which has been less than pleasant.

I had a gastroscopy on Friday after my last treatment and the 2 malignant growths have reduced by 25% and 33% respectively. Also the 3 polyps in my duodenum have been reduced to almost nothing.

Today I reached a personal milestone: I managed to eat a meal of roast chicken and vegetables AND kept it down. I've also now gone 3 days without losing weight.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this thing has been vanquished.

I have 5 more radiation therapy sessions and then we (me and my wife - who has been my pillar of strength) will find out what the deal is.

    Cheers,

    Peter

Thoughts with you and yours Peter.

    Sounds tentatively great news.

Peter:  You don't know me and I don't know you, but we all know cancer and what a horrible thing it is. I have lost many friends and family members to it, as I am sure all here can relate to.

Best wishes to you and your family as you fight this battle....and win it.        R

Coming from a person who witnessed my dad's suffering and passing from aggressive stage 4 colon cancer almost 2 years ago, I know how it can throw  life(s) into sudden chaos. My best wishes for you Pete and keep your spirits up, sounds like they caught it early, let's hope so. My regards. Rob M.

ct, is there something in your psyche that makes you need to be in the limelight? Do you really need to make a comment after everyone else's?

And back to your earlier reply to my tirade (which I'll explain more of in a mo), had you taken the time to read the 'honesty' posts from others, you would have seen I have posted a long time ago, and updated a couple of times. Also, and perhaps your memory isn't great, I asked once before, politely, if maybe yours and others glib comments wouldn't be better off somewhere else. In response to which, you carried on.

So, I did have a moment of weakness and thought I would try the somewhat less polite post, mainly because I couldn't believe that some of you couldn't get what this thread was all about - a whole load of genuine people have come on here to share their stories. A chance for those of us who play the game for fun to find out a little about each other. The rant post predictably didn't work, so rather than walk into an inbox full of the inane garbage every morning, I'm now going to have to find my posts and stop following - which seems a shame as I have loved learning about my fellow WGT'ers.

Now, by all means, feel free to do what you do for nearly every post and pick out a soundbite or two to respond to and show how clever you are, I'm sure someone somewhere really appreciates it.

You seem an OK sort of guy, which is why I am at a total loss as to how you cannot seem to grasp the integrity of the thread. Seriously, why not go and start a new thread 'let's talk here' or something - a chance to talk about anything you want. I would happily post regularly in that - nothing I love more than a good natter - but this isn't the place for it.

Separate note - why on earth do you think Gary is, or even ever would, take orders from me? He seems more than capable of standing on his own two feet. Not sure you need to belittle him.

Now leave me alone for a while - I'm halfway through the 3rd round of our Uneven Lies Major and currently only 2 under through 9...need to concentrate!

Peter - my very, very best wishes Sir. I think most of us will know people who have been through this but it is impossible to comprehend the impact it must have on you and your friends and family. Good luck with it.

well Steve...we all have faults, I suppose...crosses to bear... I respond to posts I should probably just ignore (like this one)...and you have the need to post poisonous, rage filled melt downs, which you then feel you must publically explain?  (there isn't one)

I hope you took the suggestion on switching to decaf..:)
