  "WHO HAS THE MOST FRIENDS ON WGT?"

  1.  There should be a clear distinction between having "friends"...and having a collection of random names on a "friends list".  IMHO, they are not synonyms.

  2.  @mkg. While I understand your desire to prevent bullying or denigration of women on this site, I am honestly curious if you are equally strident in your defense of men, when women are the antagonists?

  Many times, I have read enraged melt-downs by women...often using language that would make the proverbial sailor blush. Spewing poison like a cobra, which is neither veiled in its' intent, nor nuanced in the form of jokes. 

  And what about those women who blatantly use sexuality to solicit free gifts on here?. Just scan some of the photos and golf names chosen. Granted, there are posers who are probably men, but many are definitely female.

  Are you equally outraged and vocal with them?

  Colin, I haven't seen meltdowns like you've described...doesn't mean they don't exist, I just haven't come across them here.

  I'd bet that 99.9% of the free gift solicitors are guys, preying on the clueless.

  MY MY MY!!!! Haven't we all fell off the cliff? Been gone from here for a short time and had to check in. This post is titled Let"s Be Honest. So far so good even if we stray at times. If you set down and take the time to post your thoughts, then I give you props for being honest. This can become the let it go, vent, get it off your chest, be nice, be ugly, whatever your mood thread. Please try at all cost to your egos or emotions to not individually call a player out by name. We will all get in trouble and lose our thread.

  oi vey, Gary..what qualifies you to make such a blanket statement; a Ph.D in Zoology? ..and can you possibly find an even broader brush?.

  This is a public forum...all of the threads were designed for discourse, ideas, debates, opinions, tips, jokes, advice, advertisements...whatever.

  For the most part, that's what they are used for. If you see them simply as a virtual soap box for narcissists, then I feel badly that you have become so cynical. 

  At the very least, if you are going to post something, please make it relevant, or interesting, or humorous, or helpful, or debatable, (or even quasi accurate).

  Not sure here...if you want many "friends" on your list, easy to do...just shot gun invites. If you prefer a small friends list, also easy to do.. just delete a bunch you have very little to do with.

  If you are referring to attention seeking, I agree there are far worse things to be guilty of...it just struck me a bit ironic that Gary flagged the entire thread for doing that, and out of 8 people on his FL, he counts one of WGT's biggest narcissists among them. Not judging and don't care...I just found it odd.

  ps..as far as why people use these forums, you are correct when you say there are a variety of reasons. Much like face book or many of the chat lines, it's a way to converse with people of varying opinions and back grounds. Some are aged, or home ridden, or lonely and this is their only social outlet. Some are retired or unemployed, and have lots of time on their hands...I personally find many of the threads and opinions to be enjoyable reading...certainly beats reading about the US presidential race or the monstrous acts of a world gone seemingly mad.
