A tournament is only one of many suggestions made to honour our fallen comrade. The problem I have with that is, once a tournament is over, it is forgotten.

I think Andyson deserves more than this, something more permanent should be implemented so that players old and new get to know of him and the huge impact he had on this game and community.

I believe that making Andyson a Tour Champion and having an annual commemorative tournament is the absolute minimum we should accept from WGT.

I attributed that to PDB1...I may be in error, but Paul didn't seem to slam the door, as long Henry changes his subject matter in the forum.

If I misunderstood his post, I am sure he will clarify and I will amend the vote accordingly.

Henry is a no-mark useless poster who adds nothing to the forum, he can get to feck for all I care.

The adults have important things to talk about.

This being the big topic -

I agree with this. Currently, there are two Tour Champions, and a vast majority didn't even know about Leo Phiber until it was mentioned as an aside. The other TC is Icon.

I again suggest the TC tier be made exclusive to those like Phiber and Andyson. Just as importantly, visibility must be be maintained, so that everyone knows who they are.

The irony here is wgt has the community spotlight, which routinely honors players who have long ago given up playing, or whose "achievements" are suspect.

ps: I have amended the Henry vote to include yours, Paul.:)

I agree on all points ,  There might be a problem on the WGT side ? They might want proof that he passed away ? I don't know ?

An annual tournament is good but I don't think they will go for that .  What about the 19th hole ?  We can nominate him for that !

A month long tournament in his honor would be a good way for us to pay our respects , After the tournament we can keep his memory alive in this WGT forum .  We can make a thread just for him .

Perhaps WGT will do something in his behalf ,( If not ), We need to think of something we can do on our own .  As far as WGT is concerned , All we can do is try !!

    Hey Everyone,

Spoke with the higher ups and we wont be able to host a tournament for Andyson's passing. Based on some past experiences and most players that will participate in the tournament not knowing who Andyson was, it doesn't seem like a fitting way to really pay tribute to who he was. We did start a thread where players can post stories or memories of Andy and this seems like a much better way for the community involved with remembering and paying tribute to this beloved player. For the 19th Hole feature, I have passed this suggestion along to the right people to consider.

    All the Best,
    WGTShamWow
