I live on the New England shore.
I started playing tennis at age 6 and golf at 12. I played my first golf tournament at my country club at 12 and lost the tournament on the first hole of sudden death. Oh well. I did exceed at tennis though. I have about 30 (local) titles to my name (did play the National Juniors when I was 16 but lost in the first round, bummer), but after getting injured at the age of 29, that came to a halt.
Flash forward 20 years-
I was a small business owner of a really hip video store that specialized in rare films, old 1930's-1970's films and a huge selection of foreign films ( you name the country, we had it). Area colleges, libraries and other video stores would always call me looking for hard to find movies. Thanks to Netflix, Redbox and the local library I closed it down.
While I was in a state of flux after I closed down the store, I thought about starting my own blog/website. I thought I'd just use the initials of my name, so I searched for WGT.com, yes, the initials of my real name are WGT (I'm not kidding). So when I saw that someone already owned the .com I thought, "Who the hell are these people?" And that's how I found this crazy golf game.
I now work at a National Maritime Museum and in the last few years my fellow colleagues have done this-
