    SHRUDE:

Craig..  please leave this thread alone and allow it to go on untarnished.
Allow people to tell their story without thinking this thread is just a cesspool of unrelated garbage.

Take your humour to 'And Everything Else' where you will at least get involvement from Dougie.

    Thanks for understanding.

Thanks  SHRUDE  for reminding  some members  that this thread is serious  for  most of us .....   Please   unrelated  humour or garbage   does not belong on this great thread .               Frapp

Hi my name is Mogridder and my Country Club has a big problem, the founder of the club and only officer has had brain surgery and hasn't been heard of for 4 months. In the mean time we can't recruit new players or do anything that requires an officers approval. Is there anyway WGT can promote a temporary officer if not I think are club will disband.  Any help out there from anyone PLEASE.

    Mog

    Ah yes...craigswan

    Craig Darling,

My, my. The honor of being the hero or focus of this fine thread is what you could hardly have aspired to, either from your talents or from your good qualities. The partiality of your few friends has never given you credit for more than mediocrity in the former, and experience has proved that you are indebted for all your consequence here to the reverse of the latter.  ~ SP ~

Cool story about Mr Tincher. Did you stay in touch with him when you got older?

It appears this thread has hit the skids. To Be Honest, I am still here, but I am not here. Reading the forums I see the game has gone South. I guess I will go North. I really do miss some folks on here. We used to have a hoot.

    Mr Tincher.

I lost touch with him when I moved away when I was 19 . It was many years later that I learned he was the course pro .  I had no idea that for years I was getting free lessons . plus I got to play on that course for free .

When I went into Jr High he told me to join the Golf club at school , I was the only one to play in Jr High .  We played at a local public course . Mr Tincher took me there with my dad one day , ( My Dad was a Scottsman that played in the old country ) . Mr Tincher showed me how to play each hole , He called it " Course Management " .  So when I started playin in the school club I had to play with the High school guys . At first the Big boys didnt like havin a " Kid " with them and when I was matching them or posting better scores they hated me . But after a bit some of them would ask me for help  . The next year I was just one of the guys .

To this day  ( 45 +/- years later ) when I play I can still hear his voice in my head telling me how to make a shot or play smart .

I also remember my Dad telling me

" You do not need the best golf clubs to be a winner " .

That is one of the best tips you can get now days when we have a variety of clubs. You just need a set of clubs that fit your game, it doesnt matter if they are 10 years old. In the end it is just a set of clubs. what counts on the field is how you play and your concentration to play. Thats why you practice every day ( you can ) to be the best in this sport or to just enjoy it.
