I feel I know them too Francois. Almost a bond with many of you folks. You are right, sharing is not something all people want to do. For those of us who do, it is just a way to get to know our friends better. I don't boast or brag about anything that I have personally accomplished. My greatest achievement in my life has been my family. It hasn't been easy but was an OOPs that happened when I was 17 and I accepted my responsibility. Instead of a College education I got a job and was a father soon after. I would not trade it for Bill Gates money. My friends are my second family and are always welcomed by my family.  When my 3 kids were growing up, their friends came and talked to me about things they were afraid to talk to their own parents about. After several conversations they were comfortable talking to their own Mom or Dad. I have never made a lot of money or acquired the houses or boy toys that some members here have, but I have done what my parents taught me to do and to be the person I am today. If this is all I have to leave when I'm gone my family and friends will consider it enough.

    renniw52:

So very true PR. All we can do is have a little faith in our fellow man and woman. I am friends with many of the respondents of this post. We keep in touch through pm's or in some cases even real life phone calls. I for one hope Honesty is key here, but like you said, anyone can say whatever here and we have no real proof. I am 100% exactly as I described and welcome anyone on WGT to stop by for a visit. If your ever in Atlanta, Ga. I live 21 miles south of the city. I will gladly pick you up and we can shoot the bull. You can meet my pet squirrel I have in the house, play with my 26 lb Mainecoon cat and meet Coco my chocolate lab. Drink a cold Yuengling and smoke a Camel blue if so inclined. Up until 3 weeks ago I had 2 pet squirrels, Panama Willie went to the big Oak tree in the sky. Old age got him just like it is getting me.

Thanks Renni, I'll look you up if I'm in the neighbourhood :)

Reading through the thread there seems to be some colourful characters with some interesting stories to tell....who knows you may convince me yet?

Likewise if you ever come to England make sure you visit Devon!

    daddd1:

PR, you haven't been around long enough to be so cynical. The old timers are mostly very honest and straight forward, you should go to your cc and get some real insight!

Hey daddd1,  I am a bit confused about 'not being around long enough?' How long is long enough? and what insight do you wish me to gain from my CC?

I wasn't trying to be cynical or put a downer on the thread it's just common sense.

I for one am glad to encounter honest people of which it would seem there are many on this thread.

Regardless there's really no need to get offensive, I was trying to put my point across politely. As already stated I appreciate the sentiment here.

    PR

There may be accounts which are anything but honest and there may be those who just embellish the facts.

You can also run into the same mixture of people in a bar or Pub.You don't need the internet to find bull$hitters, although I do agree there is lots of bull$hit on the internet.

Well I laid my ugly mug out for all to see in another thread. I started this damn thing a long time ago, we have had some true responses and maybe some not so true. If you want to respond to this I commend you, if you want to make fun of it and use it as a way to make you what your not, then feel free also. Some of us are real, some of us are still trying to be. Like Francois said, many of us are old enough to admit what we really are. No need to pretend anymore, we are in our prime and just want to enjoy what we have left to enjoy.

I never contributed here as I felt the attitude above was well, just plain wrong.

You've obviously got a gripe with someone on here.

    No offence btw.... just sayin'.

I honestly have no gripe what so ever with anyone on here. I simply meant that some folks are not ready to let us know them yet.
