    Hey Francois!

I just read every single one of the preceding 30 pages and I'm actually crying cos it's so amazing that people have been willing to share their stuff, you know?

My circumstances have changed a bit. I'm still an over-privileged brat, I'm still like totally over-sensitive, but I don't live with dad any more. He needs to deal with stuff and I can't be part of that any more.

Any way, what I really wanted to say was that everyone who has contributed to this thread has made me realise that whatever small obstacles I face are like, totally miniscule.

All of your life experiences are incredible and a total inspiration to me. I hope that when I'm a grown-up I can be half of the people you are.

    I hope that makes sense.

    toona:

Just came across this . Outstanding thread !!. My Name is Steve. Will be 51 in Feb. Married 15 years to my best friend. No kids but a 3 year old chocolate lab named Cocoa. Born and raised in Altoona, PA. I moved to the State of Delaware after College  in 83 and a few of my friends started calling me Toona. Has stuck ever since. Since then have lived in VA and now reside in Ohio. I smoke Camels(should Quit) and have an occasional libation.Have to have a few vices LOL. In 2005 my Wife went in for a surgical procedure and ended up having a stroke in the recovery room. Since she just had surgery they couldn't give her any of the new fancy clot busting drugs. So was pretty bad. She spent 6 months in an intensive therapy care center.  Promised her there that I would do any thing to get her home.  Happy to say that other then some brief hospital stays that is where she is. Can't say enough about the nursing aides that help people like my wife. Not sure what I'd have to do without them. Takes a lot off my mind since I still work and thus i know that she has someone looking after her while I'm not there. I use to play RL golf but gave it up. Just couldn't justify it. I found WGT in Jan of 2010 and has been a godsend. Have met so many great people here that have helped me threw some really tough times . With the added plus of giving me my golf fix. :-)

    Steve

Hold close those that you love !! Because you never know when life will throw you a curve ball or just run you over. Sad to say that my wife had another stroke on the 14th of Jan and is now in a nursing home. Hopefully at some point she will be able to come back home but it's not looking good right now. So you never know what life will bring. Reach out to your loved ones even if it just a phone call to let them know you care. LIFE'S TO SHORT to let something go unsaid.

WGT has been a blessing to me over the past 4 years and I'm sure it will continue. The golf is secondhand to all the friends and acquaintances that I have met here.

    Steve

Great to here from you toona. My thoughts will be with you and your wife. We have so much in common. I am originally from Bradford, Pa. I have a 17 month old Chocolate Lab named Coco and have smoked camels for 51 years. I also have the occasional beverage, in moderation of course, about 15 beers a night. I have finally found a little work since being un employed. I have been doing Epoxy floors and secondary containment areas for Google in Charleston, SC, and went to Sacramento, Calf. 2 weeks ago to do several thousand sq ft of floors for a new Verizon data center. It's bits and pieces but is keeping the lights on and keeping me in Camels and Yuengling. Not too fond of the OSHA required safety gear but they won't let me on site without it. This is just a little update for my friends here and a big welcome to you for the comment.

Work in telecom......go for training a lot.......train a lot of people myself......spend time in hotel rooms all over North America, mostly Canada......work on microwave networks mostly backhauling voice/data traffic for you folks on those new-fangled smarty-phones.....if you lose service, it's not my fault............I"m distracted easily.......

I have found that being honest here can really upset certain people. I made a comment about the Old Days and got ripped for my comment. I guess I am too honest and always say what is on my mind. I never target anyone but some people are just way to sensitive. This is being totally honest.
